There was what appeared to be a man at one of the windows, he was dressed completely in black, in what looked like a siren suit , with a balaclava helmet, but it was all in one, showing his face but no hair could be seen - dark eyes, and looked very intelligent - slim build, about 5-6 foot tall, (could have been on a platform!) - sallow, pale complexion, although the lighting could have had some effect - touching something with his fingers, probably controls. From the other side of the house lost UFO for a while - ran from one bedroom to the other - when seen again he appeared to be walking about, and bending to do something. - man and object disappeared over roof tops opposite.” (UN-CE). Witness stated: I was in my bedroom when I heard a sound like a low flying aircraft. I had heard the same sound earlier with my friend. I switched the light off, and went to the window. I saw then from the right what seemed like a hazy light right up in the sky, it was flickering quite fast. It moved quickly to my left. Looking at it was like having a piece of plastic placed in front of your eyes. Although from the noise the object seemed low, in fact it was very high up. It didnt change shape at all and I watched it until the sound and the object had gone. It was a clear starlit and Moonlit night. (IN-NL). (Bott). (lufoin).

51/77/64. 25 October 1977 - 17:57 - Leicester, UK - A strange object in the sky was observed by a lone, female witness. Witness stated: What I saw was a light in the sky similar to a four day old Moon but without the curve. It was dark flame almost red in colour, as was the evening sky from the setting Sun in the far background. It was absolutely vertical and appeared to be stationary. After about seven minutes I took my eyes away and when I looked back it was tilting to the right at an angle of 45 degrees. I realised then that it was getting further away and moving to the left quite slowly in the direction of the slight wind. It had now turned into a white light and it disappeared over the horizon as a smallish white ball. I raced upstairs and saw it again for half a minute or so before it again disappeared over the horizon. It had been in my view for 20 minutes because I timed it with my watch. Otherwise, the time seemed shorter. (UN-Med). (lufoin).

Witness (A) stated: We were travelling by car when I saw what looked like a moving star. The children thought it was the car moving. Arriving at our home in Gough Road, we saw it again stationary in the sky. It suddenly moved off very quickly and then started coming back, travelling west to east parallel to our road. As it went behind the house opposite and re-appeared, it was again moving off very quickly to the north, disappearing almost immediately. (IN-NL). (Glenn). (lufoin).

51/78/09. 24 January 1978 - 16:15 - Rowanberry Avenue, Leicester, UK - An unusual aerial phenomenon was observed by a male witness. Witness stated: At approximately 16:15 hours on Tuesday, January 24th., 1978, I rose from my armchair in my living room to see what the weather was like. I observed an object in the sky travelling at great speed in roughly a north-west, to south-east direction. Whilst travelling along, the object changed shape from elliptical to almost round. It was bright silver in colour, this was not caused by reflected sunlight as the weather was overcast at the time, and the sky was a dull grey in colour. My window is six feet wide, and the object took approximately 8-10 seconds to travel from edge to edge. The object left an unusually shaped vapour trail, almost spiral in shape, and wider than that usually associated with aircraft. I called to my son who was in the kitchen at the time, but by the time he arrived in the living room the object had disappeared, but he clearly observed the unusual vapour trail. (UN-Med). (lufoin).

51/78/11. 24 January 1978 - 18:45 - Ruddington Walk, Abbey Rise, Leicester, UK - A married couple witnessed an unusual object in the sky whilst looking through their window. The couple said that the object first appeared as a bright orange ball of light that gradually moved towards their vantage point. As it came closer, the witnesses saw a group of non-flashing bright lights in the shape of a triangle, coloured red and blue/green. After approximately 5 minutes, the lights moved silently away very low over the rooftops heading towards Enderby. (UN-Med). (lufoin).

51/78/12. 24 January 1978 - 19:10 - Nedham Street, Leicester, UK - A triangular formation of coloured lights was seen by 46 year-old female witness - The lights were described as static, very bright and coloured red white and yellow. Witness stated: I was walking up Nedham Street, approaching Melbourne Road, on the evening of January 24th., 1978, at 7.10 p.m. As I looked at the sky I noticed 3 lights which were still. They were not flashing as on plane lights, they were steady. I kept looking and I came to walk under two railway bridges. When I came through the other side of the bridges, the lights were exactly in the same position as when I first them. What attracted my attention to this object was: First; the lights were steady. 2; they had not moved from when I had first seen them. They remained there for at least 55 minutes, then I left. 3; There was no sound. What I saw was not railway signals, the lights were far too high. (UN-Med).(lufoin).

51/78/13. 24 January 1978 - 19:30 - Braunstone Close, Leicester, UK - A triangular - shaped object with static coloured lights at the corners, was observed in the sky by single female witness. Witness stated: I was walking out from the avenue and I sighted it between the garage and pub. I observed it for about 5 minutes and it appeared stationary. It then appeared to move along Narborough Road south, and I followed it until I reached the bus stop. It was still moving when I stopped there, and then it doubled back on itself, and, as it passed overhead, I saw that it was definitely solid. I pursued it up Braunstone Close, but then I had to go back to catch my bus. I kept watching it until I caught my bus. I lost sight of it once I was on the bus. (UN-Med). (lufoin).

51/78/19. 24 January 19:45 - Welford Road, Leicester, UK - A 37 years-old male witness was parked in his car in Welford Road, Leicester, at 7.45 p.m., when he observed a strange aerial phenomenon. Witness stated: “I was in a car behind the New Road Inn Public House, Welford Road, Leicester, facing north, when I looked up in the sky and saw an orange-brown light, not particularly high or going fast, moving north towards the city. I thought to myself that it was a plane going into Castle Donnington. Then, as I watched, it suddenly turned 90 degrees towards the west and continued at approximately the same speed. It was at this time I saw some green and blue flashes approximately 30 yards to the right of the light. The light then stopped and just hovered for about a minute. Then it carried on still to the west, and disappeared into some cloud. From the way it turned 90 degrees, there was no way it could be a plane. I then thought it was a helicopter, but there was no flashing light. I could not see any outline at all, just the light. Since I had my engine running and never left the car, I do not know whether there was any noise. I would said that the speed was equivalent to a piston type plane going in to land at Castle Donnington airport and at about the same height.” (Best). (UN-Med). (lufoin).

51/78/25. 24 January 1978 - 22:20 - Severn Trent Water Authority, Anstey Lane, Leicester, UK - An unusual aerial phenomenon was witnessed by late night shift worker, Ernest J, as he was about to start work at the Leicester Severn Trent Works in Anstey Lane. Witness stated: On the night of January 24th., 1978, I had just started my nightshift at the Severn Trent Water Department, Gorse Hill, Anstey Lane, Leicester. About 22:20, I was just finishing my security patrol when I heard a sound like a dynamo in the sky. On looking up, the sky was cloudy at the time, I saw a green glow. About a minute later there was a ring of different coloured lights, red, blue, green, yellow and these lights glowed. I could not make out the shape of this thing, but the green glow was still above what ever it was. After about 1 or 2 minutes, the lights faded in the clouds above, but the dynamo sound was still there for a minute or two afterwards, then it faded away fast. It could not have been a plane as there would not have that many coloured lights, and the green glow. (UN-Med). (lufoin).

51/78/32. 25 January 1978 - 17:40 - Leicester, UK - Stationary red and white flashing lights were reported. (PE- 1C). (lufoin).

51/78/36. 26 January 1978 -19:30 - Leicester, UK - A delta-shaped dark coloured object was observed - two large red domes seen underneath object - hovered. (IN-Med). (lufoin).

51/78/101.12 September 1978 - Evening - Witness (B) of 2 (Leicester) stated: At first we thought it was a plane, but it seemed odd as the light was not flashing as a plane light does. We moved into the kitchen to look through the windows for a better view - I looked through binoculars at the light - it seemed to have a half-circle shape of red light at the back, and a dark, shadowy front. It moved across the sky, circled, then moved away towards Wigston Magna - The time was 8:15 p.m. (UN-Med). (lufoin).

51/78/05. 3 January 1978 - 16:05 - Leicester, UK - An inverted white, cone-shaped aerial object that swayed, then shot upwards out of sight. (PE- 5A). Possible weather -balloon explanation.

51/80/12. 10 April 1980 - 00:15 onwards - Various areas of Leicestershire, UK - A total of 12 known witnesses observed a fireball-like aerial object falling out of the sky. 2 of the various reports describing the event, are cited below:- Witness (A) stated: Shortly after midnight there was a bright flash of light in the dimmed lounge - looking out of my bay window I saw a long line of light with a star-shaped base travelling down to the ground.” Witness (B) stated: I was going to bed and had just put all the lights out, when I saw a light on the lawn. I went to the window to see what it was and as I looked up the sky was brightly lit.” (DE-4B). *See Item 3: Press Report Log - 1979 -1992. (lufoin).

51/80/15. 1 June 1980 - 23:30 Hours - Leicester, UK - Mother and son observed a red object that performed a series of movements including a 90 degree turn - At one point, a smaller red object was ejected which then returned to the main object. (IN-NL). (lufoin).

-1999 -

51/99/02. 8 April 1999 - 03:30 - Leicester, UK - A formation of orange/brown lights was observed in the sky by a male witness. Witness stated: “Driving home I stopped at traffic lights. I saw a formation of 3 orange/brown lights flying in a equilateral formation (about a mile away? 1000 metres up?. Then a 4th light "materialised" in the middle. It was larger than the others. It then darted away at speed (100mph at ground level). The lights then moved towards the car, nearly overhead. There wasn’t any noticeable noise. Suddenly a new light pulsed once slowly and then shone. This light was three times the size of the others and in the middle of the formation. It was also lighter on the outside than the inside. The object sped away at speed, perhaps it was moving at speed anyway. I could not tell whether they were changing altitude, growing? or just gaining speed. It was very jerky movement. I moved my head over the steering wheel to get a better look. The lights disappeared from my view. I could not see much out of the back window so i could not see it. I continued home. This must have been seen by others as there was a car behind me at the Traffic lights. Although there is a military centre nearby, there is no way that this was a plane, a series of planes, Helicopters, et-al. I don’t know what they were.” (In-Med). (nuforc).

51/99/03. 5 July 1999 - 23:00 - Leicester, UK - A round object was observed in the sky for approximately five minutes. Witness stated: “As I was watching the television with my Mother and just looked out of the living room window, I saw different coloured lights that went through our shed and through to the other garden. We could see the people sitting there it was amazing that the lights made the shed and everything disappeared like that. My mum, who was standing at the window, said that she saw a big ball of light that was twice the size of the Moon, and the Moon was over the other size of the house. there was no sound in the sky that night. The light was big and bright my mum wanted to go outside to it, then after about 5 minutes, it shot off just like that.” (IN-NL). (nuforc).

- 2001 -

51/01/02. 21 January 2001 - 21:45 - Leicester, UK - An oval shaped aerial blue light was observed for 10 minutes. Witness stated: “I was having a Cigarette outside in my Garden when I looked up in the sky and I saw this really bright blue light, at first I thought it was just a plane but then I saw in coming closer and closer and I had this really weird high pitched sound in my ears as it was coming closer then suddenly it just stopped moving and began to hover, at this moment I was beginning to feel a bit scared because I have never ever seen nothing like it in my life. After the object stopped hovering it just disappeared after about 10 minutes but as it went I could see a streak of yellow from where it had shot off. (nuforc).

- 2002 -

51/02/02. March 2002 - Leicester, UK - A circular aerial object was reported - larger than a star.” (IN-NL). (ufodna).

51/02/03. April 2002 - Evening - Leicester, UK - Seven round aerial objects were observed. “I witnessed 7 spheres circling each other in many different directions where I got out of the house which they were hovering over the sky which where are this height of 50 -75 feet off the ground. I then got on my motorcycle and followed them which they had over 6 bright lights over the craft while following these spheres. They stopped, and a light shined on me which was over the diameter of 25 - 30 feet. I then turned the bike around and rapidly raced away. I then looked around while moving away and they where still hovering over the ground motionless. This was where I last saw them as the light had gone and they had rapidly moved away towards the stars. This was the moment where I last saw the spheres.” (IN-Med). (nuforc).

51/02/04. August 2002 - Leicester, UK - Witnesses stated that they saw something that looked like a shooting star and had four lights on each side. (IN-NL). (ufodna).

51/02/05. August 2002 - Leicester, UK - Three aerial white objects in formation were observed. (IN-NL). (ufodna).

-2003 -

51/03/01.15 February 2003 - Leicester, UK - Witness stated: “I Looked up to see a lit up patch in the sky. An almost giant plane (football pitch size) went through the gap where the light was.” (IN-Med). (nuforc).

51/03/04. 27 September 2003 01:15 - Leicester, UK - An object was observed that resembled a distant star. Witness stated: It looked like a distant star - very unusual speed, like it was moving like it was tracking something then disappeared behind clouds. There was a clear blue sky with white clouds. I looked up into the sky and saw a distant object it looked like a distant star way above the cloud level. It was stationary for about five to ten minutes, then it seem to started to move to the right much slower than a jet. I know this because, I look up through my window and can see aeroplanes clearly and their trails, or sometimes no trails. This object seemed intelligent and could for some odd reason at a distance above the clouds, was able to tell that I was watching it which is why it started to move very slowly to the right behind the white clouds and then disappeared. The speed it moved was unusual, because at that height, it could not have been a helicopter of any type, and of that size it was so tiny, to small for a jet and the speed was slower than a jet.” (PE-3B). (nuforc).

- 2004 -

51/04/08. 4 December 2004 - 12:00 - Leicester, UK - A meteor-like aerial object was seen. Witness stated: I have never (as far as I can remember) seen a UFO until about 40 minutes ago. I was lying in bed looking out of the window when all of a sudden a fiery looking light appeared in the sky, it sort of faded in - it faded in to view from being nothing, to a dull light and then gradually getting brighter. The total fade in took probable 1 second or less, at first I thought it might have been a flare or firework or even a shooting star. I got up, sat on the edge of the bed next to the window and moved the net curtain back to get a better view. I watched it for about 10 seconds, it moved in a downward diagonal movement and then curved smoothly in to a horizontal path. There appeared to be a small red light to the side of it, my initial thought was that the red light was the tail light of a helicopter and the bright light I was seeing was the helicopters search light, it lingered in the sky for a few more seconds and then faded out as quickly as it had faded in. Within less than one second it faded from an intense bright fiery light to nothing, completely disappeared.”(Evaluation Code PE-7B). (nuforc).

51/04/09. 27 December 2004 - 17:15 - Leicester, UK - Three to four discs were observed that looked oval in shape - when the discs moved to the side. Moved in a triangular formation across the sky. (IN-Med). (ufodna).

- 2005 -

51/05/01. 2005 - Date and time un-noted. - Leicester, UK - Witness stated: “3 bright lights and a small red light on a circular craft. I walked up the road I saw 2 bright lights in front of me, at first I thought it was a plane or helicopter but there wasn’t any flashing lights on it. As I walked on I stopped to look at it and as it was over the top of me - I saw 3 lights in a triangle formation and a small pulsing red light in the middle. I rang my dad in to see if it was a military aircraft but he didn’t know what it could of been. I could also see a faint outline of a circle but I’m not sure.” (nuforc).

51/05/05 1 November 2005 - 22:20 - Leicester, UK - Low flying, below cloud level, large, very clear sighting, round, covered in lights - no noise - moving at about the same speed as a plane. Witness stated: “Low flying, below cloud level, large, very clear sighting, round, covered in lights no noise moving about the same speed as a plane - probably twice the size of a passenger plane but round covered in lights mainly white with the odd coloured one definitely red and I think green and blue but not many coloured lights.” (In-Med). (nuforc).

- 2006 -

51/06/03. 19 July 2006 - Evening - Leicestershire, UK - Long fire streak changing to multiple colours. - Witness stated: “The object I saw was low in the sky and the sky was clear as I could see a lot of stars. I’ve never seen anything like this before was a long flame lasting about 13 seconds then it vanished. A ball like shape appeared with rainbow colours for two seconds then that vanished. I said to my neighbour did you see that? - he said yes that’s weird - that’s the second one tonight.” (Evaluation Code PE-7B). (nuforc).

51/06/04. 22 July 2006 - 12:00 - Leicester, UK - A ‘bullet/missile’ aerial object was observed. Witness stated: “Well we have been in the middle of an heat wave and a big storm was just moving in - I sat out the back yard, looking at the clouds all was still no birds in the sky or any planes - the sky grew darker and the wind picked up, so I got my camera and just took a few pictures of the sky, but when I looked at one of the pictures later, I found a UFO - when you zoom in on it you can see better.” (PE-1B). (Mufon).

- 2007 -

51/07/02. 15 March 2007 - 20:00 - Leicester, UK - Three bright lights were observed moving side to side across the sky. - Witness stated: “Three bright lights were seen to the north over Leicester moving side to side across the sky, joining together, and then parting in a systematic manner.” (PE-5C). (nuforc).

51/07/05. July 2007 - 20:00 - Wigston Meadows, Leicester, UK - Comet-type of green ball - shot over house - disappeared vertically. (PE-7B). Possible explanation: Fireball. (uk-ufo).

51/07/06. 10 September 2007 - Aylestone Road, Leicester, UK - Male witness observed a large, silver object in the sky. Witness stated: (2008 statement) - “It was ‘cigar-tubed’ in the middle, and like a bell at the end - I thought it was really odd and I didn’t know what to make of it. As it came across, it was making turns that aren’t possible with aircraft, it kept turning at jerky right angles, until it came over the Walkers Stadium, and then drifted off eastwards - Its movement is what stuck me, it was almost like it was tootling about.” (Ormland). (IN-Med). (Leicester Mercury - 16/2/08).

51/07/12. November 2007 - Morning - (Exact date and time un-noted) - Braunstone Park, Leicester, UK - A sausage-shaped aerial object was observed by a male witness. Witness stated: (2008 statement) - “I was taking a morning stroll through the park, and I was near to the point where it draws level with Gallards Hill, when I looked up and saw an object in the sky shaped like a sausage - it was really large, and twisting and turning around. It was about 3 to 4 yards in length, and grey in colour. I walked a few more yards and when I looked again, it had moved. I was getting scared at this point and walked away from the area quite quickly. Two weeks later I rang Radio Leicester about it who said that a lady had also rang them to say that she had seen the same thing. (Anon). (IN-Med). (Leicester Mercury - 16/2/08).

- 2008 -

51/08/09. 12 July 2008 - 21:50 - Leicester, UK - At least 2 unusual objects were observed crossing the sky by a married couple. Witness (A) stated: “I was walking back from the shop about 9:50pm when I glanced up and saw at first what I thought was a flock of birds. I took another few looks and noticed an orange light on at least two of them. They made no sound whatsoever and were moving quite fast. I raced home and called my wife to see them too and she is still somewhat freaked out at what she saw as has always been a realist and found an explanation for things. They were heading towards Leicester City Centre so surely someone else must have seen them? We live 15 miles from East Midlands airport and are used to planes, these were not engine craft, they seemed to glide.” (PE-5C). Possible explanation: Sky lanterns. (Vike).

51/08/11. 23 July 2008 - 23:15 - Leicester, UK - A bright white light was observed in the sky. (PE-4A). (uk-ufo).

51/08/20. 14 September 2008 - 21:10 - Leicester, UK - A silent orange And shimmering aerial object was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “My interest was sparked this week as on Sunday at 9.10pm. I saw a UFO myself. I live in Leicester and lots of people would have seen this phenomenon as I live on the edge of the city centre in a very busy area. I called the local paper and asked if they had any sighting reported but said they had not. The object was silent orange and shimmering it also changed shape but they was no uniform shape to it. I looked at it through 50x50 binoculars and all I could describe was a orange shimmering light which moved at some speed.” (PE-5C). (Vike). Also reported to: (ufoinfo).

- 2009 -

51/09/01. 2009 ongoing (and previous years) - Leicester, UK - Several unusual objects in the sky were observed. Witness (A) stated: “The initial object appears as many do as a bright globe of light which moves only in the horizontal up down left & right at a distance of approx 7 miles away & directly over the city of Leicester, & I have seen the same object tracking a plane I was on at 35.000 ft. A secondary & which appears to be a smaller object appears close to the initial object & positions itself using the same mode of moment to the left then directly below the initial object then in a straight line up to it then disappears. I feel the main reason to be able to see the objects clearly is due to the fact that there is less light pollution from Bruntingthorpe airfield, & the best time to view this phenomenon is approx 6.30 am onwards. There are a number of people who can corroborate these happenings. Of late they are becoming more & more blatant & now they are happy to appear for me on a regular basis with multiple witnesses.” (IN-NL). (ufoinfo).

51/09/06.24 January 2009 - 21:30 - Leicester, UK - A group of 5 people observed 3 orange orbs crossing the sky. (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/07. 7 February 2009 - 22:00 - Leicestershire, UK - Several witnesses observed several strange red lights floating across the sky at an equal distance from each other. Witness (A) stated: “Whilst standing outside smoking a number of people witnessed several strange lights that seemed to float above us at a very high altitude. They seemed to be spaced at equal distances from each other, and glowed with a reddish glow. A few people managed to take photos and video on their telephones as they went over. Once they had moved away a short space they then seemed to rise and disappear.” (PE-5C). (nuforc).

51/09/18. 18 April 2009 - 22:30 - Belgrave, Leicester, UK - A red-orange ball shaped light descending towards a building rooftop was observed. Witness stated: “I was picking a friend up from a pub on Law Street in Belgrave, Leicester, England. When I reached Law Street, I parked up and was waiting for him to exit the pub and then it happened. This red-orangey coloured glowing ball came gliding past my line of sight in the night sky heading towards a high rise building. At this point I was so engrossed in this phenomenon that I did not have time to take a picture or record a video. It actually looked like it was landing on the building as it was lower than the height helicopters fly at. As it disappeared from view several other random people witnessed it too. To my amazement we all said the same thing to each other 'did you just see that?' I ran round the other side of the building to see if I could see anything on the roof but it was gone and couldn't be seen in the sky either. Strange. Very strange because if it didn't land then it would have been still heading in that direction.” (PE-5C). (nuforc).

51/09/27. 30 May 2009 - 23:00 - Leicester, UK - 2 orange balls of fire were observed in the sky. (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/30. 20 June 2009 - 23:30 - Leicester, UK - Eight orange spherical objects were hovering overhead in perfect formation at about a height of 100m above the ground. After a few minutes the formation elevated and disappeared rapidly.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/31. 21 June 2009 - 01:40 - Leicester, UK - A formation of star-sized lights in the sky were observed in the sky by lone male witness. Witness stated: “I saw a formation of star-sized lights moving in formation west to east across the southern sky - long enough for me to get my binoculars and ascertain it was not a plane with wing/ tail lights & co. but collectively about double the size, that is six or more separate star-like lights moving steadily across the sky between a patch of nearby trees and a rooftop of the adjoining house. A few seconds later two similar globes swept out in a loop across the sky apparently following the formation. The star-like objects were not the colour of stars but red to orange if my memory serves. The formation was symmetrical and , I think, a regular square shape with a 'star' top left and bottom right of the square. I was going to get my camcorder but would have missed the display if it had, since it took place in a relatively small area of sky between the trees and the rooftops. I have no idea what it was, but I do see planes regularly flying from that direction, which I think is that of Stoughton aerodrome. But this wasn't a plane; I've no idea what it was. I guess someone else must have seen it since it was Saturday night/Sunday morning. I'm totally mystified.” (PE-5C).(uk-ufo).

51/09/34. 28 June 2009 - 22:30 - Leicester, UK - 2 bright orange flickering lights in the sky were observed. (PE-5C). (ufoinfo).

51/09/37. 5 July 2009 - 01:00 - Leicester, UK - “A group of four of us were sitting in our garden having a nightcap and a chat when I noticed a bright light coming towards us in a straight line. It was travelling roughly south to north and went right above us and made no noise at all. It seemed to be quite low and big and as it got closer it appeared to be flickering as though it was on fire - we thought it must be a meteor or fireball. However as we were watching it disappeared into the distance. I turned around to see a second one coming on exactly the same path and same speed. my brother captured the second one on his phone camera but it only shows as a dot in the sky. I have always been a bit sceptical about UFOs, but am still stunned by what we saw and can't believe that it's not been reported on the news.” (DE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/58. 8 August 2009 - 21:45 - Leicester, UK - “All in all there were 6 lights, 2 red, 4 whitish/orange - I’m ex military and seen a lot of lights in skies etc, but I’ve have no idea what my friend and I witnessed last night.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/62. 11 August 2009 - 09:30 - Leicester, UK - A hovering object in the sky was observed by 2 witnesses. Witness (A) stated: We Had gone to the top of our north west facing back garden to sit in the summer house which faces South. Watched helium filled balloons rising from the local garden centre then left the summer house to watch these balloons level off. As one levelled off and went west we noticed a star but didn't think anything off it as I just thought it was a rare daylight sighting of Venus. My partner watched it for a little longer, saying that he thought it was moving towards us (east) so I came back out of the summerhouse to look saying he was daft and that it was just an illusion with the fluffy clouds moving but it then did start moving, slower than the balloons and in northwest direction. This all happened over roughly 20 minutes.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/09/72. 25 August 2009 - 22:25 - Leicester, UK - a steady orange light in the sky was observed - silent. Witness stated: “I live 2.5 miles south east of Leicester City Centre. I have just seen a steady orange light move silently, at incredible speed, across the sky over our heads, and eventually out into space (you could tell it was leaving the atmosphere by the way it shimmered and dimmed out of view). I have observed the sky many times and have watched aircraft at night etc. I have never seen anything remotely like this. Far exceeds any man-made aircraft that are discussed in public. Don't believe what people tell you about Chinese lanterns. This was high, fast, silent, straight as an arrow, and bound for space.” (PE-5C). Explanation: Chinese ‘glo Lantern. (uk-ufo).

51/09/73. 26 August 2009 - 21:00 - Leicester, UK - “A large orange glowing ball moving over the rooftops it moved very quickly and in a straight line -I know it wasn’t any kind of lantern or fire balloon.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/90. 25 September 2009 - 19:30 - Leicester Forest East, UK - 5 orange aerial objects with flames underneath were reported. (PE-5C). (ufoinfo).

51/09/91. 25 September 2009 - 19:30 - Leicester Forest East, UK - An oblong/cigar shaped object was observed moving steadily across the horizon by lone male witness. Witness stated: “The object was bright orange, silent, and looked like it was on fire. The object kept stopping and the glow disappeared, then it came back, this went on for around 5 minutes- the oblong shape changed direction but kept on a level course across the horizon. Very strange and definitely not a lantern.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/09/94. 11 October 2009 - 21:30 - Leicester. A star-like aerial object was observed by single female witness. Witness stated: I noticed out of my kitchen window, what looked like a very low, but bright star to the south-west. I went outside to get a better look as it was a very clear night. When I was outside, I noticed that it was moving in a downwards angle at about 45 degrees. My immediate thought was that it was a helicopter until it started taking quite an odd flight path, not moving in a straight line as such, more side to side. As it got closer, the colour of the light changed to red and it seemed to revolve to then show a bright green light. At this point, I could see what like four or so lines protruding upwards, also lit by the green light. I carried on watching as it went over my house, whilst still moving in a sweeping motion, until it changed to a bright white light again and disappeared from view, not moving overly fast. Funnily enough, I didnt notice any engine noise.” (PE- 2B). (uk-ufo).

51/09/104. 3 November 2009 - 19:45 - Leicester, UK - “A huge orange sphere slowly rose into the sky...it stopped me in my tracks. I was unable to identify it, meaning, it was not a plane, helicopter or Chinese lantern..( way too big). It appeared to rise from ground level, and was massive, and very orange.” (PE-5C). Probable explanation: Pre-Bonfire Night Lantern Launch. (uk-ufo).

51/09/105. 5 November 2009 - 19:30 - Leicester, UK -3 bright orange flying objects, equally spaced, flying extremely fast, no sound, looks like they were almost on fire.1 hour later 2 more were seen. (PE-5C). Possible Explanation: Bonfire Night Chinese Lanterns. (nuforc).

51/09/109. 7 November 2009 - 23:45 - Leicester, UK - A single, bright glowing orange light was observed in the sky by lone male witness - two further identical glowing lights were seen some minutes later - silent. (PE-5C). (Gibson). (uk-ufo).

51/09/110. 8 November 2009 - Late Evening - Leicester, UK - Orange aerial objects were observed. Witness stated: ““This is the second night I have seen these strange lights in the sky. Today, more, they seem to travel quite fast, 4 in a line, with the same distance between each one, then the 5th further back. they seem to disappear into nowhere. Around 10 minutes after this sighting in a different direction, I saw firstly a row of three lights, one big white one, a smaller light in the centre, then another big white one at the end, which I would say were all from one flying object. Minutes later, I saw another one of these red lights, very low, very clear, no sound, it looked like a giant candle flame burning red.” (PE-5C). (nuforc).

51/09/112. 13 November 2009 - 01:15 - Leicester, UK - Several star-like lights of various colours were observed in the sky. (PE-3A/B-7B). (uk-ufo).

122/09/114. 14 November 2009 - Evening - Leicester, UK - 3 red objects that were bright red, 2 were close together with the other following several minutes later. Witness stated: “Driving back from work I saw 2 red lights from some kind of craft, hovering above the town I live in. When I parked up at my house, I walked into the town centre and saw another craft flying overhead. It was quite low down in the sky, made no noise or flashes, but looked as if it was on fire. It was a bright light so would be unusual for a plane, and it was the same as the other 2 craft I saw driving home. It was moving about the same speed as a plane in one direction, but the fact I saw 3 of them in such a short space of time, and the way they were lit up made them seem suspicious. After looking around in the town centre I couldn’t see the 2 other craft, so they’d moved off before I could look at them again. It was a clear night sky so they were very apparent and there were no clouds that could obscure them.” (PE-5C). (nuforc).

51/09/116. 19 November 2009 - 01:00 - Leicester, UK - 2 intense yellow lights and 2 red ones in a square shape with several ‘strange’ aircraft. (PE-5C-1B). (uk-ufo).

51/09/120. 3 December 2009 - 19:45 - Leicester, UK - A large orange sphere that rose into the sky was observed. Witness stated: “My daughter and I were leaving a Chinese take away, I had parked on Kerrysdale Avenue, looking across towards Hamilton, a huge orange sphere slowly rose into the sky...it stopped me in my tracks. I was unable to identify it, meaning, it was not a plane, helicopter or Chinese lantern..( way too big) It got so far up then halted and stayed completely still. We watched for a while , then my daughter said, 'is it me or is it getting smaller?'. It did appear to be getting smaller, but was not travelling in any direction at all. It was hard to decide whether it was moving but eventually it did appear to then have some distance and disappeared ...hard to describe really! Now if something is hard to explain or describe, then it strikes me as not remotely normal. I cant believe no one else saw this, as it was initially very low, it appeared to rise from ground level, and was massive, and very orange.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/123. 18 December 2009 - 21:30 - Leicester, UK - Two orange globular lights in the sky were observed. Witness stated: I saw Two orange globe lights silently travelling North to South. These were definitely NOT Chinese lanterns - They both stopped then one flew to the east whilst the other flew South East. Then they rejoined then silently and steadily flew off.” (PE-5C). Possible Christmas Chinese Lanterns. (uk-ufo).

- 2010 -

51/10/01. 1 January 2010 - 00:00 - Leicester Forest East, Leicestershire, UK - 30 orange aerial objects were observed. Witness (A) stated: “My granddaughter and myself were looking out of the window when we saw orange objects going across the sky. These objects appeared to be like balls of fire and came from the direction of Leicester and carried on their way in the direction of Hinckley. I should think there must have been at least thirty of them and they were using quite a wide expanse of sky. There didn’t seem to be any particular pattern to their movements except that they came from the direction of Leicester and went towards Hinckley. The last three only used any pattern and that was a two together and one at the back. My granddaughter is ten years old and is quite sensible and interested in anything to do with UFOs. There was another funny thing my mobile phone seemed to have gone weird as it said their was no network and I couldn’t contact anyone. After the last ones went by my phone worked again. I live at Leicester Forest East on the main A47. I have never seen anything like it before but have always had an interest in UFO sightings.” (PE-5C). Possible Explanation: Sky lanterns - Released from several parties as part of the new year celebrations. (ufoinfo).

51/10/19. 15 March 2010 - 21:30 - Leicester, UK - A big, bright, orange-red light in the sky. (PE-5C).Probable sky lantern.

51/10/31. June 2010 - 11:45 - Leicester, UK - A bright orange light in the sky that wasnt moving. Witness stated: “Around midday I noticed a bright orange light in the sky that wasn't moving. It pulsated - becoming intense and then less so. Could make out a darker centre when light reduced. Sighting lasted for a couple of minutes.. It didn't fly off it just disappeared. It was a bright sunny day and initially I thought it was a plane reflecting the sun. But the fact it didn't move and I've never seen an orange reflection on a plane before kind of rules that out.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/10/74. 26 June 2010 -Leicester, UK - A long, silvery/blue aerial object was observed. Witness stated: (2013 Statement) “I sat out on in their garden on the night in question and looking towards the city I saw what looked like a long rectangular structure no bigger than a phone box. spinning over the city. It was a silvery blue kind of colour. after a few seconds it must have gone behind a cloud as it just disappeared.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/10/42. 2 September 2010 - 21:47 - Leicester, UK - 6-7 glowing circular lights in large triangular shape. (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/10/50. 30 September 2010 - 20:00 - Knighton, Leicester, UK - Witness stated: “There were several pulsating lights in alternate green and orange, all small in comparison to the craft, and all square in shape - low - just above houses - silent - hovering.” (UN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/10/51. 30 September 2010 - 20:00 - Leicester, UK - Green and orange lights were observed - hovered. (UN-NL). (Michaels). *See Item 9; Press Report Log 2006-2012.

51/10/52. 30 September 2010 - 20:00 - Knighton Fields, Leicester, UK - several square lights at the bottom of the oval craft - pulsating. - descended - silent. (UN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/10/53. 30 September 2010 - 20:15 - N. West Leicestershire, UK - Pulsating orange lights in the sky were observed. Witness stated: “Four pulsating orange lights flying south west in a square formation. Accompanied by loud jet noise - but no sign of usual navigation lights or white strobe. The back of each object had a square pulsating orange light (about 2 times a second). at about 20:30 hours, one single object moved north east and at 21:15 hours, two flew over heading north east side by side. These objects sounded like military jets - very loud and could still be heard about minutes after they passed out of sight. Pulsating light very odd, nothing like a jet reheat or anything else I have seen before despite being a pretty keen plane spotter.” (UN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/10/54. 1 October 2010 - 21:37 - Leicester, UK - A single speck of light, with a slight reddish tint, was observed at a very high altitude - flew in a straight line, before suddenly veering to the right. (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/10/56. 16 October 2010 - 23:00 - Leicester, UK - Object sped across the night sky - faster than normal aircraft - 1 continuous light and 3 lights orbiting in a semi circle - 3 flashing lights. (PE-1A). (uk-ufo).

51/10/57. 19 October 2010 - 20:15 - Leicester, UK - “Silver Satellite“ - shaped object moving very slowly (2 hours in virtually same position). (PE-3A). Possible explanation: Planet Jupiter. (uk-ufo).

51/10/62. 31 October 2010 - 17:30 - Leicester, UK - A bright orange ball in the sky travelling south. (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/10/68. 15 November 2010 - 17:15 - North-West Leicestershire, UK - Large bright light like a ball of fire in skies above me flashed by to the horizon at what seemed to be 1000's mph. (PE-7B). Possible Explanation: Fireball. (uk-ufo).

51/10/70. 8 December 2010 - 17:30 - Leicester, UK - A large green/blue ball of light was was observed crossing the sky. Witness stated: “I was driving home and saw a large ball blue-green in colour with a large fiery tail flying horizontally across the sky. I was turning right off the A47 Hinckley Road onto the Packer Avenue housing estate. The (possible meteor) was travelling from right to left and had to have passed over the M1 motorway just before you get to junction 21. I didn't see anything afterwards but I was driving and had turned away from the object.” (DE-7B). (Explanation: Fireball). (uk-ufo).

51/10/71. 8 December 2010 - 17:30 - Leicester Forest East, UK - A large green/blue ball of light was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I saw the same thing from Beaumont Leys it was only brief it looked like a large shooting star again travelling from left to right I tried to follow it across the sky but I just vanished I thought it must have been my imagination I’m glad someone else saw it.” (DE-7B). (uk-ufo).

- 2011 -

51/11/05. 8 January 2011 - 19:45 - Leicester, UK - A colour changing aerial light was observed. Witness stated: “It was red, then went green. it was going round in a circle.” (PE-1D). (Leash). (uk-ufo).

51/11/10. 29 January 2011 - 08:38 - Leicester City Centre, Leicestershire, UK - A streak of flame in the sky was observed by single male witness. Witness stated: “I saw what looked like a missile or ICBM streak over Leicester city centre. With my knowledge of cruise missiles and the modern British nuclear deterrent, this was really quite irregular. It flew directly across a known flight route from East Midlands airport, but at much lower altitude. Had an afterburner type flame at the back, but it made no noise whatsoever.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/11/17. 7 March 2011 - 22:00 - Leicester, UK - A long bright light in the sky was observed. Witness stated: “I saw a very visible bright light out of my window at 10pm last night. It moved across the sky. It was a long bright light with a green circle light at the end. It then curled up into the green circle and disappeared into thin air.” (PE-7B). (uk-ufo).

51/11/24. 30 April 2011 - 22:09 - Leicester, UK - An orange/red light in the sky was observed. Witness stated: “I saw a bright orange/red light diameter of the end of a biro, moving from NE to SW visible for about 20 seconds, straight path, no sound, followed about 3 minutes later by an identical one with the same trajectory and speed.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/12/03. 13 January 2012 - 20:30 - Leicester, UK - A red light in the sky was observed. Witness stated: I saw a reddish light in the sky towards the south, while coming along beside my garage in the car park. I Thought it was a Chinese lantern at first, but when I looked again shining my torch towards it, I noticed the light oscillating & moving towards me to go overhead, heading north- wards. So then I ran into my house, to call my wife, to come & see it. But when I got back into the car-park, it disappeared completely. I was only away for about a minute. I looked all over the sky for it but could not see any light, except the stars. What puzzled me was, if this was a Chinese lantern, I would have still seen it on my return to the car park.” (IN-NL). (lufoin).

51/12/21. 3 March 2012 - 21:40 - Leicester, UK - A large bright object was observed crossing the sky. Witness stated: “At first I was worried it might be a plane on fire because of what looked like sparks and flames - It was very impressive.” (DE-7B). Definite explanation: Fireball. (Baker). (lufoin).

51/12/25. 26 April 2012 - 02:30 - Leicester, UK - A strange ‘gliding noise’ was heard and four flashing lights in the sky were observed. Witness stated: “I woke up around 2.20 and heard a gliding noise. It stopped then came back so I looked out the window and I saw 4 lights and 4 other lights flashing around it moving like a plane. I thought it was until it completely disappeared. There was no way it could have gone out of vision I was staring right at it.” (Knight). (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/12/27. 2 June 2012 - 22:45 - Leicester, UK - A red light was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I looked over south east side of the city and saw a red light rising from behind the Dane hills area, thought it was a lantern but it then turned into an aluminous green pulsating light that travelled south east to west, accelerating to higher speed as I watched it fly off into the distance.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/12/31. 4 August 2012 - 00:00 - Leicester, UK - Various objects were observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I was in my back garden when I happened to look up and see a huge ball of light appear, and then in a flash, it went. After, I stayed in the garden and saw lots of strange things including what looked like a star but happened to change shape and colour from orange to green to red. I also saw a moving object which I know was not a plane as it had a green triangle shape top and was gliding along slowly with no flashing lights which planes have. It was bright and then vanished after about 5 minutes. I did get this on video but it can’t cant be seen clearly, but I have images of the flashing ball of light. I have never in my life seen so many things in one night.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/12/40. 10 September 2012 - 22:11 - Leicester, UK - 4 white flashing lights in formation were observed crossing the sky by three witnesses. 51/13/09. Late February/early March 2013 - 23:00 - Leicester, UK - A thin beam of light was observed coming from the ground. Witness stated: “It was late February or early March about 11 p.m., when I went out my back to have a smoke. The sky was clear and my yard faces south in south east. Suddenly, a white thin line of light came up from the ground direction to about 100 ft and then stopped for two seconds. Then, two shafts of light shot out, one each side. They then seemed to be in the middle. They shot straight up at speed so fast and with no noise at all. No trail of light followed it up. It certainly was no fire work. I'm only reporting it because it looked like something out of a science fiction film.” (IN-NL). (lufoin).

51/13/13. 29 April 2013 - 23:00 - Leicester, UK - Unusual lights in the sky were observed by a male witness. Witness stated: “First of all I saw what looked like a star moving which was quite bright, but with the speed it was travelling. I next thought it was probably a satellite, then it went really bright and gathered speed before fading out and looked as if it was travelling straight up. Around 20 seconds later exactly the same thing happened again in almost the same part of the sky, which was followed quickly by two planes, one which seemed to circle that part of the sky then backtracked and the other plane flew straight through the area and onwards, these lights which I am quite sure were not satellites, planes, lanterns or meteors.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/13/15. 8 May 2013 - 21:30 - Leicestershire, UK - Witnesses in various parts of Leicestershire reported observing a large green aerial object crossing the sky. Witness (A) stated: "I saw a bright green light which moved at high speed across the cloudy sky from east to west immediately overhead across Oadby. It was quite a sight.'' (DE-7B). (Leicester Mercury).

Witness (B) stated: “My mum-in-law and I were sitting in the conservatory and saw what looked like a falling star in Huncote. We had friends round and were chatting. We glanced out of the window and saw a white light going past behind trees. To begin with, we thought a plane was going down.” (DE-7B). (Leicester Mercury).

Witness (C) stated: “I am just informing you of a UFO sighting my parents have just seen in the Ratby area of Leicestershire. They were watching the television when out of the window they saw a low bright green object going through the night sky at a massive amount of speed (faster than a aircraft) and then going into the distance, they said they haven’t seen anything so bright green like that before. Very weird, they said it was really close, no noise or anything, I was in the house at the time when they told me so I know there wasn’t a sound.” (DE-7B). (uk-ufo).

51/13/19. 17 June 2013 - 22:20 - Leicester, UK - Two strange lights were observed crossing the sky - Film footage obtained. Witness stated: “I saw these 2 strange lights, they were brighter than the camera shows.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/13/25. 18 July 2013 -19:30 - Leicester, UK - Two unusual aerial objects were observed. I came upstairs…. I was about to close the curtains, as the Sun was too bright & I couldn’t see my TV in the bedroom, I looked outside the bed room window and saw a plane high in the sky (flying towards north-east) I also noticed two objects (same size as the plane) both on one side of the plane, then Changing direction to another side every few seconds, then it stopped for few seconds. The next thing, I noticed both the objects flew straight up into the sky and disappeared …. But the plane was still flying.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/13/33. 28 July 2013 -19:00 - Leicester, UK - Witness stated: Two unusual aerial objects were observed by male witness. “I only saw one at first - the object got my attention because of how high up in the sky it was, for me it was too high to be a plane - there was no cloud coming from the engines like you normally see from a plane. However I though maybe it could be a plane, till the 2nd appeared behind it, it kind of lit up like a bright ball, this was more noticeable because it is light outside still, they disappeared behind the clouds - I heard no noise and the objects were moving slow - a helicopter then flew over in the direction of the sightings.” (IN-Med). (Our UFO Society).

51/14/01. - 10 January 2014 - 00:00 - Barrow Upon Soar, Leicestershire, UK - An object with 4 slowly pulsating, glowing lights was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “looking out the window in the distance behind the houses across the road above rooftop at my eye level I saw an object with 4 slowly pulsating, glowing, silent object, that moved slowly to the left hovered, went up, hovered, then went diagonally down till unseen as behind the houses -It had a diamond shape or square, but the light where big and bright, it was hard to tell.” (IN-Med). (Mufon).

51/14/03. 10 March 2014 - 22:15 - Leicester, UK - A triangular object with bright red lights was observed in the sky. Witness stated: "Triangle shaped UFO with bright red flashing lights, flashing with a distinct pattern and with an extreme brightness unlike planes or other aircraft that use the nearby flight path. the object was first flying straight up from the horizon then with a sharp 90 degree change of flight direction it moved off over the roof tops where I was able to make a better note of the intensity of the flashing lights and of the pattern of flashes between the 3 lights... after about 3-6 minutes, the object flew off into the distance.” (IN-Med). (Mufon).

51/14/09. 18 May 2014 - 18:00 - Victoria Park, Leicester, UK - A white circle was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “Saw an object in the sky yesterday afternoon that I wasn't able to identify. Thought at first it was radio controlled but it was surely too high, somewhere between a floating bird and big summer clouds. I became unsure if it were small / near or large / far. It was a white circle with what I thought was the reflection of the sun shining on most of it, but as it freely moved higher the light on it didn't change at all but seemed to be coming from it, a constant glow like, dare I say, star light. Suddenly it dropped vertically, moved sharply left, dropped vertically, moved sharply left then floated behind the trees and steadily away. Never saw it again.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/14/12. 07 June 2014 - 00:45 - Between Houghton on the Hill and Stoughton Leicestershire, UK - A hovering white light was observed in the sky by a male witness. “I was driving home from a do in Leicester on the road from Oadby to Stoughton, just approaching Leicester airport, when I saw a white light hovering to my left, I reckon over Houghton on the Hill; it stated to come in my direction - at an altitude of c 5,000 feet, turned blue and green, suddenly accelerated and did a 180 degree turn at great speed, then turned again and shot off over Leicester.” (Clarke). (PE-2B). Possible Police Helicopter. (lufoin).

51/14/20. 4 August 2014 - 22:25 - Uppingham Road, Leicester, Leicestershire, UK - A bright white ball of light in the sky was observed by a female witness. Witness stated: “I have several accounts of UFOs, but the most recent was just ten minutes ago. At 22:25 on the 4th of august 2014. I live near Upping ham road where I am very familiar which way the planes travel and which are very frequent, so I am quite good at telling the difference between a plane and something that’s not quite right. I saw an amazingly bright white ball of light. No red or white flashes like a plane, and this went straight across my house instead of going over which all the planes do. Also, it made no sound, instead it just got brighter and brighter.” (McRobie). (IN-NL). (lufoin).

51/14/21. 28 August 2014 - 04:00 - Leicester, Leicestershire, UK - A stationary flashing aerial object was observed. Witness stated: “We could see a completely stationary object flashing for approximately 1hr. The object looked far too stationary to be a helicopter and there was no sound. We have observed the same object again tonight for at the moment about 30 minutes. Object observed from west Leicester looking out towards Glenfield, Hinckley direction. Looking through binoculars, unable to see exactly what it is.” (IN-NL). (lufoin).

- 2015 -

51/15/04. 15 February 2015 -19:15 - Leicester, UK - A bright red glow in the sky, containing a golden ’star’, was observed by a female witness. Witness stated: “Whilst travelling from Glen Parva to Sainsbury’s petrol station at Fosse Park, as a front seat passenger in our car, which was being driven by my Husband, I noticed a bright red glow in the sky - it was to the left of the carriageway or a bit further off. The light was stationary, and I assumed it would move at some point if it was an aircraft. It was not high enough to be a major plane or helicopter, and had no other lights. When I arrived at the petrol station I watched it and it seemed to contain a golden star. We drove off and we lost sight of it as we travelled towards the motorway and in the direction of Warwickshire.” (IN-NL). (lufoin).

51/15/11. 3 May 2015 - 12:30 - A47 Road, Near Leicester Forest East, Leicestershire, UK - A married couple observed a silver disc-shaped object hovering in the sky. Witness (B) stated: “We were driving to Leicester on the A47, and passing near Leicester Forest East, when my Wife noticed a silver disc in the distant sky. I pulled over to take a better look - the object was just sitting there in the sky, and looked like it was spinning. There was no smoke trails or anything. After a minute, it seemed to disappear from view.” (Stringer). (IN-Med). (lufoin).

51/15/21. 30 June 2015 - 14:50 - Hamilton, Leicester, UK - 2 objects very high up in the sky were observed by a male witness. Witness stated: “I saw 2 objects very high up in the sky in approx East - Southeast direction. The objects were separated by a few degrees, but never changed position relative to one another. In fact, during the 20 minutes they were in view, they never appeared to move at all. The right hand one, just visible to the naked eye, appeared through binoculars as a silver object with no projections such as wings, roughly circular. It was strongly reflective, whereas its companion, which was of the same shape, was white but did not shine. They appeared to be higher than the airliners which headed east - west at high altitude somewhat to the north. Due to arm and neck ache, they could not be watched continuously, but could be relocated in the same area of sky. The size of the objects would be very hard to judge due to the height at which they appeared. They were not seen to move off, but by 15:10 could not be relocated. The sky was perfectly clear during the sighting.” (IN-Med). (lufoin).

51/15/24. 2 July 2015 - 21:00 - Leicester Forest East, Leicestershire, UK - A shuttlecock - shaped aerial object was observed in the sky by a single witness. Witness stated: “I saw a shuttlecock - shaped aircraft in the sky. It looked as long as a car with a trailer, and it was a dull bronze in colour, with blue strobe lights at what I presume was the front of it. A mauve coloured mist was coming from behind. It headed in the direction of the A47 into the city.” (IN-Med). (lufoin).

51/15/65. 1 August 2015 - 22:00 - Beaumont Leys, Leicester, Leicestershire, UK - Unusual bright lights in the sky were observed by a male witness. Witness stated: “Driving through Beaumont leys last night, my car stalled and wouldn’t restart. I got out to pull bonnet and saw a very blinding light in the sky. As it came closer I noticed it was really enormous, I would say it was as big as a sports field in length, and cigar shaped, with twenty or so lights on it. I reached for my phone but it died on me, and I noticed the street lights were dimming. The hairs on my arms stood on end, and I started having a nose bleed. After it went my car was fine again.” (Burton). (IN-NL). (lufoin).

51/15/66. 1 August 2015 - 22:00 - Leicester, Leicestershire, UK - Unusual bright lights in the sky were allegedly observed by 2 witnesses. Witness (A) stated: “I was walking my girlfriend home last night when suddenly the sky lit up with numerous lights, coloured blue, red and green. It was a huge shape in sky, weird.” (McNulty). (INV). (lufoin).

51/15/92. 9 October 2015 - 21:50 - Leicester, Leicestershire, UK - Strange aerial lights were observed by a female witness. Witness stated: “I went outside for a cigarette and noticed 2 lights, one moving slowly in a small area to my left, and another that moved across the sky in a sweeping motion. The fast moving light occasionally joined the other light, then moved very quickly in an arc backwards and forwards, pausing at each end. It was a fairly clear sky with a few clouds - the lights were more visible on the clouded areas, so I was not sure if they were some kind of spotlights being aimed upwards from the ground. The lights were not bright but more like a hazy ball of light, I watched them for twenty minutes, mainly the one sweeping from side to side, as the other one came into view only occasionally, sometimes the sweep was slow, other times fast.” (Bollard). (PE-8H). (lufoin).

51/15/94. 9 October 2015 - 22:00 - Stoneygate, Leicester, Leicestershire, UK - Strange moving aerial lights were observed by a male witness. Witness stated: “No photos or video I’m afraid, although I did attempt to film from the window on my i-Phone, but not a thing came out. Basically I was lying in bed looking out of the window at the sky; even though it was dark, the clouds were visible, yet above, or even within the clouds i noticed two glowing moving orbs or a fairly substantial size (e.g. if you looped your forefinger to touch your thumb?) they weren't planes as no forward progress in particular was being attempted, but these two ellipses of light seemed almost to be doing a lightning-fast "dance" around each other, not exactly a figure-8, but one of them would remain relatively still, while the other shot around and then 'met' the static one, then that one would shoot around in a different formation and come to meet the second - and so forth. It really was extraordinary, I could see them for a good two minutes, but neither came out from within the concealing clouds and all I could see from each was light. The skeptic in me always looks for a rational explanation; the closest thing to it in terms of the movement would have been the ends of ! searchlight beams crossing - but minus the long beams - I suppose it could even have been ball lightning, but the extraordinary thing was the connection: there seemed a distinct communication going on between these two orbs.” (Newmountain). (PE-8H). (lufoin).

51/15/143. 19 November 2015 - 22:51 - Leicester, Leicestershire, UK - 2 star - like aerial objects were observed by a female witness. Witness stated: “I was in the High street when I saw a star - like object (very bright light) zoom across the sky in a zigzag and circling manner - this first object was then joined by a second similar object which also moved about in a similar way. Both objects then zoomed upwards and out of sight.” (Burke). (IN-NL). (lufoin).
