. 9 January 2012 - 21:30 - Burbage Common, Leicestershire, UK - 2 orange globes in the sky were observed by lone male witness. (DE-5C).77/12/02. 13 January 2012 - 20:00 - Higham-on-the-Hill, Warwickshire, UK - 2 bright lights in the sky were observed. Witness stated: “I was on my way home by car from Nuneaton when I became aware of an extremely bright light in the sky. A bit higher up, there was another similar light but not quite so bright. They appeared to be hovering and slowly revolving. I wound the car window down but couldn’t hear any sound coming from the objects.” (DE-3A). (Roberts).
51/12/03. 13 January 2012 - 20:30 - Leicester, UK - A red light in the sky was observed. Witness stated: “I saw a reddish light in the sky towards the south, while coming along beside my garage in the car park. I Thought it was a Chinese lantern at first, but when I looked again shining my torch towards it, I noticed the light oscillating & moving towards me to go overhead, heading north- wards. So then I ran into my house, to call my wife, to come & see it. But when I got back into the car-park, it disappeared completely. I was only away for about a minute. I looked all over the sky for it but could not see any light, except the stars. What puzzled me was, if this was a Chinese lantern, I would have still seen it on my return to the car park.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

. 21 January 2012 - 21:15 - Loughborough, Leicestershire, UK - 2 orange globes in the sky were observed in the sky by lone male witness. (PE-5C). (lufoin).77/12/05
. 28 January 2012 - 20:00 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - Red lights in a triangular formation were witnessed. Witness stated: “I was in my back garden on the Raywoods Nuneaton, when I noticed these red lights in a triangle shape. They did not blink, but moved as if they were fixed in a triangle. They were coming from Croft road direction, and moving towards Heathend road. There was no sound.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).77/12/06
. 28 January 2012 - 22:35 - Rugby, Warwickshire, UK - A hovering red light was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I was at home, going into the kitchen, it was a really clear night, so all the constellations were visible. When looking at the brightest star in the sky (at the time; not sure its name etc.) I then saw a smaller red/orange light hovering not too far from it. I went to look closer, and then it started to move slowly into the distance, and then vanished not too long after moving. Note: it was more red than orange, and didn’t flicker so doubt it was a Chinese lantern.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).77/12/07
. 31 January 2012 - 19:10 - Stretton under-Fosse, Warwickshire, UK - An unusual object in the sky was observed. Witness (A) stated: “We saw a UFO going in massive circles over Coventry and to the west of it. This happened 4 times in total. The third time it came directly towards us then it slowed right down and hovered extremely close. Then it went back to it's massive circles again with the same tremendous speed it had been going at previously. It had a red and white orange light on either side of it, about 20-10 metres apart. The Object made no noise. We could work out it had a large structure behind it.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).2 February 2012 -
Strange lights have people in Hinckley wondering Hinckley Times - (8).51/12/08
. 10 February 2012 - 01:40 - Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, UK - A fast moving light in the sky was observed. Witness stated: “I was returning home from work, and as I drove down the Broughton Astley bypass, I noticed a fast moving light overhead. To begin with. I assumed it was a fighter jet, but I quickly realised it was moving way to fast to be a jet. As it passed over head, I wound down my window to see if I could hear any noise, but it was deafly quiet. The light then stopped dead for a few seconds, and then shot upwards at a fantastic speed without a sound !! When I returned home, I called the Leicestershire police and reported what I had seen.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).51/12/09
. 11 February 2012 - 18:00 - Barkby Thorpe, Leicestershire, UK - Two fast-moving lights were observed in the sky. Witness stated: “Driving from Thurmaston travelling towards Barkby Thorpe, I stopped the car to observe two lights in the sky which were moving very quickly, changing direction from left to right, up and down, and moving through circles. One was a cool blue light which changed shape from a tubular to a smaller size of square or round, the other was a smaller bright red light which moved very quickly and was moving in circles around the blue light and would then shoot off in another direction. The sighting lasted for around 1 minute. As the lights came down quite low I lowered my door window to listen for any noise but they travelled very quickly over long distances, and even when they were low above my car they moved in total silence. Just before they both disappeared the blue tube changed to green and back to blue, then both cut the lights and were no longer visible. As I continued my journey I could see 5 or 6 other vehicles had stopped to observe the sighting too.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).77/12/10
. 18 February 2012 - 19:00 - Corley, Warwickshire, UK - A large aerial object was observed. Witness stated: “I was going to pick my partner up around 7pm and had my stepson with me and he said ‘look at that space ship up there‘. I thought he must have seen a plane he’s only 4, so I said ‘yes mate‘, taking no notice, but he persisted I looked up and when I did I saw what all I can describe is a massive object with a red light and a blue light sitting still in the sky for a few seconds. It was dark so I couldn’t make out what shape it was. The lights were pulsating, it was huge”. (PE-2B). (uk-ufo).51/12/11
. 18 February 2012 - 22:49 - Enderby, Leicestershire, UK - A ‘meteor‘ was reported. Witness stated: “It came from the south-east going towards the west at very high speed, about 25 degrees above the horizon, lasting a good three seconds in view, disappearing beyond the rooftops. It was a very bright yellowish colour, without any visible trail, suggesting it was way above the earth’s surface.” (DE-4B). (Noakes). (uk-ufo).51/12/12
. 19 February 2012 - 10:57 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - 2 very large slow-moving black triangular craft in formation were observed in the sky -10 minutes duration - short white vapour trails - no sound. (PE-1B). (lufoin).51/12/13.
19 February 2012 - 19:45 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - A cluster of 3 very bright lights were observed in the sky. Witness stated: “My husband was cycling home from work, and spotted a cluster of 3 very bright lights. He stopped for about 10 minutes and watched as one went east then returned to the cluster. Another went west and the original one moved east again, in fits and starts. When he got home, we all went out to see if we could see anything. Two lights remained but were very far apart from each other, one high in the sky, the other just higher than eye level. We checked periodically until the cloud covered and the lower light gradually moved away until it was behind trees. The other remained in the same spot. The street light outside our house is out at the moment, so we had a really clear view of the sky and many constellations. These 'stars' were many times brighter and bigger than the other stars. Can't explain it.” (DE-3A). (uk-ufo).51/12/14
. 19 February 2012 - 21:30 - Loughborough, Leicestershire, UK - An orange object was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I saw an orange craft moving slowly over Belton Road industrial area, appeared to stop for a time, then move on. I watched it for a few minutes, then it moved behind buildings.” (PE-5C). (lufoin).51/12/15.
21 February 2012 - 01:30 - Loughborough, Leicestershire, UK - A pulsating green light was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “As I was walking home from a friend’s house I passed Loughborough Meadows. Several hundred feet up was a pulsating green light. There was no sound. I stood and watched and after several minutes it shot away, roughly Eastwards.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).51/12/16
. 21 February 2012 - 01:36 - Markfield, Leicester, UK - Various coloured lights were observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I had just come back from a paranormal investigation up north when I noticed flashing lights pulsing in a multitude of coloured lights with a sequence of blue, orange, blue, green, blue, orange. There were no Chinese Lanterns as this is a quiet village lane with only several houses and all fields. The object was spherical in shape with a 3D rectangle on one end. It seemed to be getting bigger and bigger, and there was interference with my car stereo. I pulled over on a grass verge to get out and look but it had vanished. It didn't sound like any jet of plane that I know of. It was a bizarre experience. As a paranormal investigator I find it hard to credit the paranormal as being extraordinary which isn't a natural phenomenon or a human influence. But I cannot explain what I saw. Perhaps it was a top-secret government fighter, but spherical in shape? It'd be very odd. Either way, it was certainly unidentifiable.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).51/12/17
. 26 February 2012 - 19:00 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - An extremely bright red flashing light was observed low in the sky flashing twice at regular intervals. Silently moved slowly towards the north-west. 10 minutes duration. (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).51/12/18
. 29 February 2012 - 13:00 - Market Bosworth, Leicestershire, UK - A yellow balloon-like object, about 1 foot diameter, pear-shaped, was observed descending slowly only 20 feet above moving car - attached structure was witnessed below the object - no sound. (PE-5B). (lufoin).51/12/19
. 1 March 2012 - 14:55 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A white cigar-shaped aerial object was observed. (PE-2A). (lufoin).51/12/20
. 3 March 2012 - 21:40 - New Parks, Leicestershire, UK - A large bright object was observed crossing the sky. Witness stated: “I was in my garden when I looked towards East Midlands Airport. There was a very bright light coming towards Leicester at great speed. As it got closer, I realised it was a meteor. It was bright orange with what looked like flames coming from the rear.” (DE-7B). Definite explanation: Fireball. (Glover). (lufoin).51/12/21.
3 March 2012 - 21:40 - Leicester, UK - A large bright object was observed crossing the sky. Witness stated: “At first I was worried it might be a plane on fire because of what looked like sparks and flames - It was very impressive.” (DE-7B). Definite explanation: Fireball. (Baker).LEFT: The fireball meteor of March 3rd., photographed above Leicester.
51/12/22
. 5 March 2012 - 21:15 - Loughborough, Leicestershire, UK - An orange object in the sky was observed. (PE-5C). (lufoin).51/12/23
. 6 March 2012 - 12:30 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A silver and bronze balloon-like object, shaped like a 5 point star. Hovered for 10 minutes whilst revolving then disappeared straight up into the clear sky. (PE-5B). (lufoin).77/12/24
. 29 March 2012 - 22:30 - Coventry, UK - A light in the sky was observed by lone female witness. Witness stated: “I was sitting outside and looked up at the sky and saw a moving light which I thought it was a plane or helicopter at first , but it had no flashing lights and was way too high - it moved across quite fast across the sky - I tried to follow it, but couldn't as the street light round the corner from my house blocked my vision.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).51/12/25
. 26 April 2012 - 02:30 - Leicester, UK - A strange ‘gliding noise’ was heard and four flashing lights in the sky were observed. Witness stated: “I woke up around 2.20 and heard a gliding noise. It stopped then came back so I looked out the window and I saw 4 lights and 4 other lights flashing around it moving like a plane. I thought it was until it completely disappeared. There was no way it could have gone out of vision I was staring right at it.” (Knight). (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).51/12/26
. 30 May 2012 - 09:30 - Aylestone, Leicestershire, UK - A large, “bird-like” aerial object was observed. Witness stated: “I saw what I thought to be a large bird seemingly soaring on a thermal. Only when viewed through a powerful pair of binoculars did I realise it was no bird, It was classic cigar shaped moving in a figure of 8. The clouds were high and it would be difficult to describe the size, it was just below the cloud base, being overcast. I can say that it was large, something like the size of a lorry.” (Phillips). (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).51/12/27
. 2 June 2012 - 22:45 - Leicester, UK - A red light was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I looked over south east side of the city and saw a red light rising from behind the Dane hills area, thought it was a lantern but it then turned into an aluminous green pulsating light that travelled south east to west, accelerating to higher speed as I watched it fly off into the distance.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).77/12/28
. 17 June 2012 - 18:20 - Coventry, UK - A large hovering dark object was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I was sitting watching television, the sofa of which is positioned next to patio doors so I always have a glimpse towards the sky every now and then. Yesterday I turned my head and looked out and saw an object in the sky, it was quite low and from its size was probably about 4-5 miles away. I ran into the garden to have a look, it was like a big dark grey or maybe black ball hovering there. I thought it was the good year blimp that had been going around Coventry in earlier months and I thought I was looking at it 'face on' and at a weird angle...but I couldn’t hear any droning sound or any sound from propellers!! if you looked at it hard this big ball shaped object was kind of hazy on the surroundings, like a vapour, then it slowly descended within 5 seconds towards the ground and never came back up. because of its distance I couldn’t see where it landed. Good year blimp landing? I'm not sure, i checked out blimp landings on net and they are much slower than what I saw and there is a lot of sound with propellers. plus I’m not sure if Coventry has a blimp site to land - Strange.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).51/12/29
. 25 June 2012 - 18:30 - Bagworth, Leicestershire, UK - A slow moving, faint aerial object with a flashing blue light was observed at high altitude. Witness stated: “I was riding my bicycle where I came across my younger sister and her friend staring at the sky. They claimed to have seen a UFO. I did not believe them at first and then I personally looked at the sky. According to the other witnesses they had seen the object move closer and rotate while flashing blue. I then rode off but I believe I witnessed the same phenomena again, this time, it seemed to have come out of nowhere. I cannot immediately think of a logical explanation because I saw the same phenomena on an off for around five minutes.” (IN-Med). (Stirzaker). (uk-ufo).51/12/50
. 22 July 2012 - 15:35 - Wigston, Leicestershire, UK - A silver, mushroom-shaped object was observed in the sky by a married couple. Witness (A) stated: “We were sitting in our garden facing east when my Husband looked up and observed in a north direction what appeared to be a bright silver mushroom-shaped object. It moved rapidly and much faster than the usual aircraft. It seemed to spin on its axis but it was difficult to tell as the way it was positioned. The Sun was reflecting off the body work. My husband who is military is 100% positive it was a UFO.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).51/12/51
. August 2012 - 02:00 - Aylestone, Leicester, UK - An orange ball of light was observed in the sky by lone male witness. Witness stated: “I was out walking along the local canal. I find it very difficult to sleep and often go for a walk to try and tire myself out. I was walking through what is known as Saint Andrews Football Club car park, situated at Aylestone meadows. It sits right beside the Grand Union canal. It’s then that I saw a bright orange/red ball of light that seemed to be following the path of the canal. It was moving quite quickly. As I stood and watched it moved from the path of the canal and came up to where I was standing in the middle of the car park. It hovered above me at around 12 feet, approximately 8-10 feet away from where I was standing. It was totally silent. I also noticed that even though it was a very bright orange/red in colour it didn’t seem to omit a glow of light, it didn’t light up the car park or surrounding area. It looked like a ball of energy, as there didn’t seem to be a tactile surface or structural casing, and was approximately 3-4 feet in diameter. Above it was a set of rings, that reminded me of the Olympic rings pulsating a purple/blue green luminescence. They seemed to be floating above the ball of energy, rotating back and forth, a bit like a spinning coin. There were no wires or points of connection between the ball of energy and the rings. There was no sound, or other moving parts that would indicate how this thing was able to fly or maintain a hovered position. I’m not sure exactly what it was that I saw, but it was real and it did happen. It was a clear night. I was in awe but felt strangely calm. It all felt very surreal and I haven’t told anyone until now, simply because I thought that no one would believe me or would probably think that I’m mad.” (In-Med). (uk-ufo).51/12/30
. 3 August 2012 - 22:40 - Leicestershire, UK - A bright orange aerial light was observed by lone male witness. Witness stated: “I stood outside in back garden and saw a bright orange circular light with a similarly coloured halo. Object was flying at a constant height of approximately 10,000ft and a constant speed of around 300mph. There was no noise at all and it was a fairly clear night. The object was spinning both horizontally and vertically and the halo resembled the glowing Olympic Rings that were displayed at the opening ceremony of the Games. I watched it for about 1 minute before it disappeared behind neighbouring buildings.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).51/12/31
. 4 August 2012 - 00:00 - Leicester, UK - Various objects were observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I was in my back garden when I happened to look up and see a huge ball of light appear, and then in a flash, it went. After, I stayed in the garden and saw lots of strange things including what looked like a star but happened to change shape and colour from orange to green to red. I also saw a moving object which I know was not a plane as it had a green triangle shape top and was gliding along slowly with no flashing lights which planes have. It was bright and then vanished after about 5 minutes. I did get this on video but it can’t cant be seen clearly, but I have images of the flashing ball of light. I have never in my life seen so many things in one night.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).51/12/32 6 August 2012 - 21:55 -
Stoke Golding, Leicestershire, UK - Two orange lights were observed in the sky by lone female witness. Witness stated: “They were quite high, there was no noise and they meandered across the sky towards Hinckley. I’ve seen Chinese lanterns and they were not helicopters as they were nothing like that.” (PE-5C). (The Hinckley Times).51/12/33
. 20 August 2012 - Evening - Newbold Coleorton, Leicestershire, UK - A constant flickering light was observed in the sky by family. Witness (A) stated: “We watched a constant flickering light for 2 hours out the back of my house. It only moved a short distance in this time. It was a white light which flickered with blue red and green. It was definitely not an aeroplane due to the non movement. I tried to look at it through binoculars but it was too far away to see anything. It was in the direction of Derby. We can actually see the same light every night (if its clear enough). It is a very distant light, almost like a very bright star, but when you look closely at it you see different colours flashing.” (PE-3B). (Robinson). (lufoin).See:

. 23 August 2012 - 20:45 - Hinckley/Burbage Common, Leicestershire, UK - Several witnesses reported observing a strange flying object hovering above the Hinckley and Burbage Common areas. Object was said to be carrying blue, red and white lights and behaving strangely. Follow up investigations discovered however, that the objects seen were in fact, illuminated quadcopter models, being flown at dusk by model aircraft enthusiasts. (DE-6C). 21 September 2012 - 23:00 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A glowing object was observed crossing the sky by male witness. Witness stated: “I saw a glowing object flying slow and low across the sky, really long and thin, eventually breaking up in to smaller pieces before disappearing completely. It was travelling too slow and horizontal to be a firework.” (PE-4B). (Bradshaw). (Our UFO Society).51/12/44
. 21 September 2012 - 23:35 - Coalville, Leicestershire, UK - 3 silent, bright orange lights in formation were observed crossing the sky. (PE-5C). (Duncan). (lufoin).77/12/45.
2 October 2012 - 06:45 - Pailton, Warwickshire, UK - A bright flash in the sky was observed. Witness stated: “I saw a bright light that first looked like a star due north at approximately 30 degrees elevation in the far distance. It appeared to rise slowing vertically and then disappeared instantly. I thought it may be a commercial flight catching early sunlight but the fact that it went so quickly was odd. The sky was 99% clear of clouds. I took a photo just after it disappeared but there was nothing visible to see.” (IN). (uk-ufo).51/12/46
. 9 October 2012 - 10:18 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A bright object in the sky was observed by male witness. Witness stated: “I was in my conservatory looking east, when a bright shiny object in the sky caught my eye. It appeared to be illuminated at first and then it turned dark and sped away.” (PE-1B). (lufoin).77/12/47.
14 October 2012 - 21:55 - Bishops Tachbrook, Warwickshire, UK - A bright orange object in the sky was observed by male witness. Witness stated: “I was driving my car and noticed a bright orange object in the sky in front of me. I stopped the car and got out to observe the object. I couldn't tell how high in the sky it was. I could hear no sound from it, and it was travelling in a perfectly straight line. My first thought was that something was on fire in the sky as it was such a bright orange colour, but it couldn't have been as there were no changes in colour, no flickering of flames etc. It was sort of spherical / cubic in appearance, but with no obvious straight edges or corners. The next thing I noticed was some sort of bright hazy trail above and behind it. It looked a little like a deflated hot air balloon canopy, but again, it couldn't have been as there was no flapping movement. It passed directly over me, still in a perfectly straight line, and appeared to be maintaining a constant height. It then veered at about 45 degrees to the right very suddenly, and I lost sight of it behind the trees and houses. It probably took about 45 seconds to 1 minute from when I first saw it until it disappeared, and all the time it travelled silently, in a perfectly straight line and at a constant height. I'm not suggesting this was a UFO, but I would be interested to find out if anyone else saw it, or knows what it was.”(IN-Med). (Irwin). (lufoin).51/12/48.
17 October 2012 - 19:50 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A brightly lit aerial object was observed. Witness stated: “I went outside at around 10 to 8 and on looking up I saw, very low in the sky, what I first assumed was a plane. It was a roughly triangular in outline a set of 8 bright static white lights, 1 flashing red light and 1 white flashing light. There was a high pitched sound that soon faded away, and the object was huge, about twice the size of a normal jet aircraft. The object moved extremely slowly towards the north-west, making no noise, just above the house rooftops. The sighting lasted around 10 minutes before the object faded into the distance. Did anyone else see this? - I live on the Hollycroft Estate.” (IN-Med). (Brown). (lufoin). (Comments).51/12/49
. 27 October 2012 - 17:30 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A round black object was observed low in the sky. Witness stated: “I looked out of our rear window facing east, thinking how sunny it had become with hardly any breeze, when I noticed a black object low in the sky. The object was flying quite quickly and low on a straight trajectory towards the south, and was about half a mile away (I would estimate), just above the treetops. It appeared to be a large, round solid object with clearly defined edges, and making no sound that I could hear. I pointed it out to my Son who was in the room at the time, and when he saw it, he said it was a bird - but I disagreed, I see birds crossing the sky all the time, and this to me seemed totally different. It finally flew into the distance.” (IN-Med). (Johnson). (lufoin).77/12/52.
7 November 2012 - 19:05 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - A bright yellow light in the sky was observed travelling through the sky on a level trajectory at a very fast rate of speed - No sound - Vanished suddenly. 10 seconds duration. (PE-5C). (Church). (lufoin).51/12/53.
13 November 2012 - 02:45 - Evington, Leicestershire, UK - A bright white flash of light was observed by female witness. Witness stated: “Has anyone in the Evington region witnessed a bright white flash on the night of Diwali (13/11/2012) at approx 2:45-3:00 am? It's not the first time I've seen this, I remember almost the exact same thing a few years ago in the winter. A huge white flash (almost like a camera flash) that literally covers the entire sky and ground etc. It lasts a few seconds and has a sort of 'whoosh' noise? It wasn't like any firework, because this light filled my room for a few seconds, it was intensely bright. It definitely wasn't a dream because I stayed up half an hour after that. So I was wondering if anyone's reported this before and was also enquiring if there is a logical reason? Sheet lightening or something? However I checked the weather and there were no reports of lightening, it was a clear night sky.” (IN-NL). (Rubio). (lufoin).51/12/54
. 18 November 2012 - 14:15 - Oakham, Leicestershire, UK - A strange triangular shape was observed slowly crossing the sky by 2 witnesses. Witness (A) stated: “My friend and I saw a strange triangular shape over Oakham. It was travelling slowly and very low in the sky , it was bright silver in colour and we heard no sound from it at all.” (IN-Med). (Can You Help? Seeking further witnesses). (lufoin).51/12/55.
23 November 2012 - 18:35 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A bright orange/red aerial object was observed falling slowly out of the sky by male witness. Witness stated: “I was looking out my loft window, when I saw a bright orange/red object straight ahead of me in the northern sky . 28 November 2012 - 19:30 - Loughborough, Leicestershire, UK - A ‘long object’ was observed hovering in the sky. Witness stated: Witness Statement: “I was in a car travelling from Loughborough back to Thurmaston from a friends house. As we joined the motorway, I spotted something out the corner of my eye. It was a long object and I first thought it was a low plane, but it was far too low for a plane and it was not moving! It was hovering over some fields. It was flashing different colours (I know sounds stereo typical) and in different patterns. As we were travelling down the motorway round corners it was getting harder to see but it was most definitely hovering in the same place but then was out of sight due to the winding roads. I was watching for about 5 minutes. It was not a plane or helicopter. I want to know if anyone saw this too as I am petrified of what I saw. I have contacted the Loughborough echo as well but I am yet to hear back. If anyone can help me understand what I saw then please let me know.” (In-Med). (Can You Help? Seeking further witnesses). 51/12/58. 1 December 2012 - 22:30 - Knighton, Leicestershire, UK - A total of four bright red lights were observed crossing the sky by several witnesses. Witness (A) stated: “I was with my husband and another couple when we all saw three bright red lights, about the size of a helicopter, moving silently across the sky. Our friend who was driving saw them first and stopped the car. three of us got out of the car and as we were watching the three bright lights, a fourth appeared. They were all moving in the same direction, roughly North to South, over They didn't bob or change course and there was no engine noise. It must have taken no more than a minute for them to pass overhead and out of sight. Our friends insisted they had to be Chinese Lanterns but I pointed out that the lights were too bright and steady for that and the movement was too direct. I wasn't going to report this but I can't get it out of my head. I know that what I saw was neither a lantern nor a regular aeroplane. None of us had been drinking. We're all sensible and in our 60s.” (IN-NL). (Adam). (Any further witnesses?). (lufoin).

Witness stated: “I was outside of work looking south when I noticed the Sun glinting off a single object, assuming it to be an aircraft heading into Stoughton Airfield. When I looked up again a few seconds later there were four separate objects flying, the last two were flying around each other in a figure of eight pattern. No sounds were heard.” (IN-Med). . 15 December 2012 - 17:05 - Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, UK - A bright flashing object was observed in the sky by lone male witness. Witness stated: “I was standing in my back garden looking at the new Moon when I noticed a bright white light flashing low down in the south. It didn’t move at all for at least 10 minutes, and when it did move off, it went really fast. There wasn’t a sound and it looked totally different to any normal aircraft I’ve ever seen.” (IN-NL). (Edwards). (lufoin).77/12/63
. 15 December 2012 - 18:50 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - A long object was observed low in the sky. Witness stated: “I was in my back garden when I noticed several strange flashing lights coming slowly from the north. At all times there was a bright orange light visible, together with red and white flashing lights, also several static white lights. The lights appeared to be attached to a very long object which was flying very slowly just above the rooftops. There was no sound. I watched the object through binoculars for about 5 minutes before it suddenly vanished. If it was a normal aircraft, it was extremely large and silent.” (Cooper). (IN-Med). (For comparison, see case ref. 51/12/56. Loughborough). (lufoin).51/12/64
. 18 December 2012 - Evening - Leicester, UK - 9 red lights in the sky were observed by lone male witness. Witness stated: “I was perplexed this evening after seeing a collection of lights in the sky towards the south east of Leicester. They were bright red. Initially a single one came over the horizon and slowly moved upwards, followed in maybe 90 seconds by another, which interested me but I decided that they were planes from the little airport in Oadby. However, within minutes another 8 or 9 appeared, 2 were very close then split off from one another and all of them slowly moved upwards and further away. I tried to take a photo but my i phone didn't go a very good job. The whole thing looked like a very slow version of tracer bullets flying into the sky in random order - I would like to know if anyone else saw what I saw and could shed any light on what it could be?” (Eagle). (PE-5C). (lufoin).77/12/65.
26 December 2012 - 16:47 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - A bright orange star-like object was observed in the sky by male witness. Witness stated: “It was a bright orange star - too bright and star - shaped to be a Chinese lantern, it was also too large to be a Chinese lantern. Also it was moving too fast to be a lantern, it was moving in an south easterly direction. The distance was about the size of sky scraper and it had no lights underneath (such as planes or helicopters) and was silent. I have let enough Chinese lanterns off at new year so know it was not this.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).2012 End.
