Recorded Regional UFO Reports and Observations Log 2004 - 2011

Designed to act primarily as a research tool, this log makes a direct attempt to collate and record known Unidentified Flying Object sighting data for the years 2004 to 2011 from the Leicestershire and Warwickshire regions of the United Kingdom, and uses material directly investigated by members of the Leicestershire (with Warwickshire) UFO Investigation Network, (lufoin), also sightings logged at the uk-ufo, nuforc, ufodna and ufoinfo databases, occasionally making reference to associated items that have occasionally appeared in the local media etc.

Chronological order…

This has been maintained. However, NO claims whatsoever are made that this particular collation, is a fully comprehensive catalogue of true regional events, it merely summarises the latest available sighting information on file (at the time of collation) with the Leicestershire UFO Investigation Network concerning the region(s) involved during the time period mentioned, and may be subject to further modification at a later date.

Last modification: July, 2014.

- 2004 -

51/04/01. 9 January 2004 - 14:00 - Market Harborough, Leicestershire, UK - A black, triangular-shaped object with 3 bright lights was observed and reported to the Ministry of Defence - UFO made a rumbling noise. (IN-Med).

77/04//02. 17 March 2004 - 20:00 - Coventry, UK - A star-like object was observed in the sky. (PE-3B). Possible explanation: Star. (ufodna).

77/04/03. 26 April 2004 - 22:00 - Atherstone, Warwickshire, UK - A white pulsing object was observed in the sky. Witness stated: I was walking on outskirts of the town on a clear night and could see loads of stars, but this one star was moving pretty fast and it did sharp turns with no slowing down. I have the photo evidence I took about 7 of it. I assumed it was a UFO because of the sharp turns. I was watching it while I was walking and stopped for about a minute and then it went straight up into the sky.” (IN-NL). (nuforc).

51/04/04. June 4 2004 - Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, UK - 12 bright red lights hovering in the sky were observed. (IN-NL). (ufodna).

77/04/05. June 4 2004 - 21:07 - Coventry, UK - A black and silver cylinder was observed at just below cloud level. (IN-Med). (ufodna).

51/04/06. 20 September 2004 - 22:00 - Lutterworth, Leicestershire, UK - A group of flashing lights were observed hovering in the sky. (IN-NL). (ufodna).

51/04/07. 24 September 2004 - 06:30 - Countesthorpe, Leicestershire, UK - A hovering ball of light was observed above the M69 motorway. Witness stated: We were driving to work and saw this ball of light. It looked like it was hovering over the M1 motorway between junction 21 and 20. We saw it as we came out of Countesthorpe which is south of the city Leicester. It would have been about 2 - 3 miles in front of us.” (IN-NL). (nuforc).

51/04/08. 4 December 2004 - 00:00 - Leicester, UK - A meteor-like aerial object was seen. Witness stated: I have never (as far as I can remember) seen a UFO until about 40 minutes ago. I was lying in bed looking out of the window when all of a sudden a fiery looking light appeared in the sky, it sort of faded in - it faded in to view from being nothing, to a dull light and then gradually getting brighter. The total fade in took probable 1 second or less, at first I thought it might have been a flare or firework or even a shooting star. I got up, sat on the edge of the bed next to the window and moved the net curtain back to get a better view. I watched it for about 10 seconds, it moved in a downward diagonal movement and then curved smoothly in to a horizontal path. There appeared to be a small red light to the side of it, my initial thought was that the red light was the tail light of a helicopter and the bright light I was seeing was the helicopters search light, it lingered in the sky for a few more seconds and then faded out as quickly as it had faded in. Within less than one second it faded from an intense bright fiery light to nothing, completely disappeared.”(Evaluation Code PE-7B). (nuforc).

51/04/09. 27 December 2004 - 17:15 - Leicester, UK - Three to four discs were observed that looked oval in shape - when the discs moved to the side. Moved in a triangular formation across the sky. (IN-Med). (ufodna).

- 2005 -

51/05/01. 2005 - Date and time un-noted. - Leicester, UK - Witness stated: “3 bright lights and a small red light on a circular craft. I walked up the road I saw 2 bright lights in front of me, at first I thought it was a plane or helicopter but there wasn’t any flashing lights on it. As I walked on I stopped to look at it and as it was over the top of me - I saw 3 lights in a triangle formation and a small pulsing red light in the middle. I rang my dad in to see if it was a military aircraft but he didn’t know what it could of been. I could also see a faint outline of a circle but I’m not sure.” (nuforc).

77/05/02. Summer , 2005 - 22:00 - Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, UK - 3 red lights in the sky were observed. Witness stated: (2012 statement) - “I was 16 at the time.. My two friends and I were led on his large trampoline in his back garden facing the stars. We had been chatting about fairly trivial topics and enjoying a clear night, the stars all beautifully visible. After some time I thought that my eyes were beginning to play tricks on me. I remember thinking that I must have been tired as the night sky appeared to be flickering white light quite subtly, whether or not what appeared next was in conjunction with this, I am sure we will never know; 3 red lights assembling in somewhat of a triangular formation above us, seemingly much closer than the stars much further beyond. Moving in what appeared to be different directions, our knowledge of existing technology or natural phenomena could offer no explanation. Even now, years on and gifted with hindsight we are still unable to offer a viable explanation. One of my friends and I had noticed the flickering followed by the lights. But as I remember our other friend who led in the middle of us had become unsettled by the flickering, and had turned with his back to the sky, facing the trampoline. We asked him to turn around to witness what we were seeing, after convincing him to do so we saw the next development of the light formation together. The lights seemed to spin in one direction around each other until closing into one. They then seemed to oscillate on top of each other. As young teenagers we felt that our sighting would have fallen on doubting ears and so we decided not to share the information that we had. I am now 23 years old in my final year of University and recently I found myself for the first time properly feeling comfortable to share the experience that I had some time ago. Living with my girlfriend of 4+ years and two other housemates we got onto the topic of UFO encounters. In the first instance it was apparent that the house were sceptical of my retelling. I then decided to do something that would support my memory. I had not discussed the experience with my friends who were there at the time since, and since being at University I haven't really seen them or spoken to them much at all. However I decided to text them, merely stating; My friends don't believe what we saw that summer on the trampoline, I will propose nothing to you, but what do you remember seeing? I sent the same message to both friends. Meanwhile I drew a picture in front of my girlfriend and housemates. Minutes later I received two texts that offered almost perfect captions to that, that I had drawn! This is the first time this sighting has ever been shared on the internet.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/05/03. 30 August 2005 - Afternoon - Coventry, UK - A large arrow-shaped craft was observed in the sky. Witness stated: This craft at first appeared to be a plane - but I estimated it to be 3 times longer than a plane by the number of lights or maybe windows along the body. It was sighted on open park land, so no perspective to measure by. As it went overhead, it blocked out overhead clouds, which made me think it was quite low. The only way I can describe it is it was like an air craft carrier in the sky, it's presence was huge, no outline could be seen to ascertain shape - but it seemed to be like an arrow and looked grey and 'industrial'. Also there was no noise.” (In-Med). (nuforc).

51/05/04. 7 October 2005 - Evening - Kirby Bellars, Leicestershire, UK - Star -shape - low and flying fast. “4 point star shape, flying low slowed and then sped off - one light at each point.” (IN-NL). (nuforc).

51/05/05 1 November 2005 - 22:20 - Leicester, UK - Low flying, below cloud level, large, very clear sighting, round, covered in lights - no noise - moving at about the same speed as a plane. Witness stated: Low flying, below cloud level, large, very clear sighting, round, covered in lights no noise moving about the same speed as a plane - probably twice the size of a passenger plane but round covered in lights mainly white with the odd coloured one definitely red and I think green and blue but not many coloured lights.” (In-Med). (nuforc).

77/05/06. 30 November 2005 - Evening - Coventry, UK - Strange circles around the full Moon were observed by married couple. Witness (A) stated: “We were Just seeing some friends off from our house when we saw the strange circles around the full Moon. We downloaded the pictures onto my computer to look at them and print them out. It was then that I noticed a strange object in two of the four pictures, I thought it was fluff of the lens, but it is only on two pictures, and no others, and the aspect is different in each of them. (IN-Med). (Mufon).

Comparison ufodna list: 2005.

- 2006 -

51/06/01. 11 April 2006 - Evening - Coventry, UK - 9 glowing craft in kite shape were observed in the sky. Witness (A) stated: They were in a kite formation, the front one was flashing green and pink, the others were orange and purple.” (In-Med). (nuforc).

51/06/02. 16 July 2006 - Evening - Coventry, UK - A shape-changing aerial object was observed. Witness (A) stated: “We saw a strange object in the sky - It basically just hovered and seemed to change shape. We took some pictures of it over 5 minutes then looked at them on the computer to see if we could see what it was. When we went back out to check on it, it had vanished. There was no clouds in the sky and there was no object in the sky, it was weird.” (IN-Med). (nuforc).

51/06/03. 19 July 2006 - Evening - Leicestershire, UK - Long fire streak changing to multiple colours. - Witness stated: The object I saw was low in the sky and the sky was clear as I could see a lot of stars. I’ve never seen anything like this before was a long flame lasting about 13 seconds then it vanished. A ball like shape appeared with rainbow colours for two seconds then that vanished. I said to my neighbour did you see that? - he said yes that’s weird - that’s the second one tonight.” (Evaluation Code PE-7B). (nuforc).

51/06/04. 22 July 2006 - 12:00 - Leicester, UK - A bullet/missile’ aerial object was observed. Witness stated: Well we have been in the middle of an heat wave and a big storm was just moving in - I sat out the back yard, looking at the clouds all was still no birds in the sky or any planes - the sky grew darker and the wind picked up, so I got my camera and just took a few pictures of the sky, but when I looked at one of the pictures later, I found a UFO - when you zoom in on it you can see better.” (PE-1B). (Mufon).

51/06/05. 31 July 2006 - Evening - Leicestershire, UK - Over 20 orange egg-shaped UFOs were observed crash landing on a runway. (In-Med). (nuforc).

  12 December 2006 - UFO Leicester - YouTube Footage.

- 2007 -

77/07/01. 4 February 2007 - Early Evening - Coventry, UK - “I was outside in my back garden, when I saw a fast moving yellowish light flying very rapidly across a patch of blue sky, and heading for some clouds. Within a second, I shot 3 frames with my camera which was to hand, but I was not sure if I had caught the object due to speed and clouds. When I checked the images later, the object shows up on 2 out of 3 frames. It was in the north-west sky, heading away from me, at an elevation of approximately 20 -25 degrees.” (PE-5C). (Mufon).

51/07/02. 15 March 2007 - 20:00 - Leicester, UK - Three bright lights were observed moving side to side across the sky - Witness stated: “Three bright lights were seen to the north over Leicester moving side to side across the sky, joining together, and then parting in a systematic manner.” (PE-5C). (nuforc).

51/07/03. 15 March 2007 - Late Evening - Thurmaston, Leicestershire, UK - Moving misty aerial lights were observed. Witness stated: “My wife saw three lights - I can only describe them as a lights covered by mist. the lights moved in a circular motion but not full circle. I did try and pass it off as a amateur laser show but there was no evidence of light from the ground. There seemed to be a light source coming from the mist but not what I would call directional. It is now 11:31 and the mist covered lights are still there. I wish I could have got some evidence on film I really can not explain what it is I have seen.” (PE-8H). Possible Explanation: Nightclub laser lights on clouds. (nuforc).

77/07/04. 17 March 2007 - Late Afternoon, Coventry, UK - A glinting aerial object with ‘propellers’ was observed for two minutes by a male witness. Witness stated: “I caught sight of a small object glinting in the sunlight at elevation 80-85 degrees. I aimed my camera at the object and shot about 50 frames. The object glinted in the viewfinder at 3-4 second intervals, so I tried to time the shutter release with the glinting. The object seemed quite high, but was moving steadily from north-west to south-east (roughly) at a speed similar to that of an airliner. As the object moved away, I noticed a B737 heading towards the vicinity, then I lost sight of the object. I went inside and loaded the attained images of the object onto my computer. The UFO looked like a very odd metallic oval with propeller-like protrusions. These protrusions looked slightly different in each image - almost like they were rotating rapidly. The actual object was shiny aluminium metallic, with some dark spots in the central portion, that stayed in position relative to ‘propeller‘ movement.” (PE-2F). Possible explanation: Autogyro. (nuforc). *Also see 2013 Hinckley case ref: 51/13/18 for comparison. (uk-ufo).

51/07/04(b). May, 2007 - Mid Afternoon - Ashby Folville, Leicestershire, UK - Several aerial objects were observed and photographed. Witness stated: “These are pictures 2, 5 and 8 from a series of 10 pictures, taken over a period of about 10 to 15 seconds, covering about 180 degrees of horizon - Pictures were taken with an Olympus Ultra Zoom 3.2 Megapixel camera on automatic exposure, with about 10% zoom and tripod mounted. Weather was a light overcast and quite hazy (not as dark as it appears on the adjusted pictures shown here). The objects only appear in the 3 frames shown, out of the series of ten.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/07/05. July 2007 - 20:00 - Wigston Meadows, Leicester, UK - Comet-type of green ball - shot over house - disappeared vertically. (PE-7B). Possible explanation: Fireball. (uk-ufo).

51/07/06. 10 September 2007 - Aylestone Road, Leicester, UK - Male witness observed a large, silver object in the sky. Witness stated: (2008 statement) - “It was ‘cigar-tubed’ in the middle, and like a bell at the end - I thought it was really odd and I didn’t know what to make of it. As it came across, it was making turns that aren’t possible with aircraft, it kept turning at jerky right angles, until it came over the Walkers Stadium, and then drifted off eastwards - Its movement is what stuck me, it was almost like it was tootling about.” (Ormland). (IN-Med). (Leicester Mercury - 16/2/08).

51/07/07. 13 September 2007 - 22:17 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A strange aerial object was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I was travelling home from work when I saw a strange object in the sky which appeared static and very low and about the size of a large airplane. The wings of the craft were pointing forwards almost like a ‘V’ shape with coloured lights underneath. No sound could be heard but my windows were up so maybe it is feasible that I wouldn't have heard anything. It was slowly moving towards the M69.” (IN-Med). (ufoinfo).

77/07/08. 19 October 2007 - 16:30 - Coventry, UK - An orange/white rotating aerial object was observed by two male witnesses. (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/07/09. 3 November 2007 - Afternoon - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A silent, dark object was observed in the sky by lone male witness - changed direction - disappeared into distance. (IN-Med). (The Hinckley Times).

51/07/10. 12 November 2007 - 05:43 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A silent object was observed in the sky that resembled an illuminated flying man - object was photographed by witness as it moved off. (UN-Med). (Vike).

51/07/11. 17 November 2007 - 05:45 - A5, Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A silent yellow/white globular light was observed crossing the sky at low height. (PE-4A). (lufoin).

51/07/12. November 2007 - Morning - (Exact date and time un-noted) - Braunstone Park, Leicester, UK - A ‘sausage-shaped’ aerial object was observed by a male witness. Witness stated: (2008 statement) - “I was taking a morning stroll through the park, and I was near to the point where it draws level with Gallards Hill, when I looked up and saw an object in the sky shaped like a sausage - it was really large, and twisting and turning around. It was about 3 to 4 yards in length, and grey in colour. I walked a few more yards and when I looked again, it had moved. I was getting scared at this point and walked away from the area quite quickly. Two weeks later I rang Radio Leicester about it who said that a lady had also rang them to say that she had seen the same thing.” (Anon). (IN-Med). (Leicester Mercury - 16/2/08).

- 2008 -

51/08/01. 29 January 2008 - 18:20 - Vale of Belvoir, Leicestershire, UK - 8-10 twin lights were observed in the sky. (IN-NL).(ufoinfo).

77/08/02. 15 February 2008 - 22:30 - Bubbenhall, Warwickshire, UK - A flat round structure 'like a giant dinner plate' that was flashing orange. (IN-Med). (Sheldon). (uk-ufo).

17 February 2008 - Braunstone, Leicester, UK - LiveLeak.com - Strange objects in sky over Leicester.

51/08/03. Early May 2008 - Early afternoon - Swinford, Leicestershire, UK - Church UFO formation photographs. Witness stated: A couple of days after moving here, I took the camera (an Olympus C-730 Ultra Zoom), into the garden and took eleven pictures of the church. This is what I found on the first, and sixth pictures; The first one shows four objects in an almost perfect diamond, or cross shape. They appear to be over the church tower, but I think that they were a bit further away, as they are virtually invisible on the original picture. This frame is an extract from that original, and covers about one fifteenth of the original frame. The brightness has been reduced, and the contrast increased, quite a lot, to make the objects stand out more. The second frame, from the sixth picture, has had similar cropping and enhancement and shows five objects arranged in a V shape. Ive added the lines to emphasise the regularity of the shape they outline. The three objects along each side of the V are perfectly aligned, and the pairs of objects, at the end of each side away from the point, are aligned such that the lines joining them are parallel. I dont know how well it will show, but the object, outlined by the larger disconnected circle, on this second picture, is an irregularly shaped blob. It doesnt appear on all of the other pictures, but it does appear on more than this one. I realise that the objects could be birds or bugs, that just happen to have lined up geometrically perfect shapes, but the blob cannot be explained away as any normal flying life-form, or machine. Nor can it be explained as a mark or blemish on the photo sensitive plate, as it doesnt appear on all of the pictures and doesnt appear in the same position on the frame in any other picture it is on. (IN-Med).(uk-ufo).

51/08/04. 25 May 2008 - Evening - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A large bright light in the sky- appeared to be burning - zoomed away. (PE-5C). (Moule). Possible sky lantern. (lufoin).

51/08/05. 6 June 2008 - 14:00 - Great Bowden, Leicestershire, UK - A saucer-like flying object was photographed by a railway worker. (IN-Med).

Is This a UFO? Harborough Mail. (26).

ABOVE: The Great Bowden Saucer - Original photograph.

51/08/06. 8 June 2008 - Daylight - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A stationary red and white revolving tube-shaped object was observed and photographed - in view 10 minutes before moving away. (IN-Med). (The Hinckley Times).

51/08/07. 25 June 2008 - Afternoon - Market Harborough, Leicestershire, UK - A stationary silver ball in the sky was observed by single female witness. Witness stated: This thing hovered up and down and across quite slowly. It was too big in scale to be simply a party balloon. It was quite visible in the distance from my office window. I would say it was fairly large, but nowhere near the size of a hot-air balloon would be at that distance, and not the shape of one either. She continued ‘the object until it appeared to stop above Clack Hill.’ Miss Berry added that it hovered there and went up and down a few times, then disappeared. I dont know if it vanished or came down in the field. I lost sight of it. (IN-Med). (lufoin).

51/08/08. July 2008 - Afternoon - Burbage, Leicestershire, UK - An unusual aerial object was observed. Witness stated: It was oblong in shape - shot off. (IN-Med). (Buckley). (The Hinckley Times). (8).

51/08/09. 12 July 2008 - 21:50 - Leicester, UK - At least 2 unusual objects were observed crossing the sky by a married couple. Witness (A) stated: “I was walking back from the shop about 9:50pm when I glanced up and saw at first what I thought was a flock of birds. I took another few looks and noticed an orange light on at least two of them. They made no sound whatsoever and were moving quite fast. I raced home and called my wife to see them too and she is still somewhat freaked out at what she saw as has always been a realist and found an explanation for things. They were heading towards Leicester City Centre so surely someone else must have seen them? We live 15 miles from East Midlands airport and are used to planes, these were not engine craft, they seemed to glide.” (PE-5C). Possible explanation: Sky lanterns. (Vike).

51/08/10. 13 July 2008 - Time un-noted, but daylight. - Burbage, Leicestershire, UK - A brown, triangular craft was observed - climbed at 60 degrees. (IN-Med). (Lodge). (The Hinckley Times).

  11 July 2008 - UFO seen above Harborough - Harborough Mail. (51/08/07).

51/08/11. 23 July 2008 - 23:15 - Leicester, UK - A bright white light was observed in the sky. (PE-4A). (uk-ufo).

51/08/12. 26 July 2008 - 23:20 - Coalville, UK - Two orange balls of light were observed crossing the sky. Witness stated: “I was asleep but my partner was awake because from nowhere fireworks were being lit and fired off. My partner woke me up because he saw these things and he was freaked out, I missed the first part of this however he saw them from the beginning he exclaimed they just rose from the distance into the sky (like a firework), but then they took a straight left direction, which fireworks do not do. In the distance, high up, the first bright light moved across the sky in a straight line, it was not flashing but it was bright - it was bright orange/yellow and had no distinct shape to it, like a fuzzy outline I suppose you could say circular. At first I thought 'plane' but then I saw the other one and was like, ok that’s definitely not a plane, with no flashing lights it just wasn't possible. What was strange is and determined suspicions that what we were witnessing was not natural not man made (i.e. aircraft) was that the first one stopped dead and didn't move, as the second object got closer it was practically next to it, when they were together as a pair they started to disappear, it was like it was waiting for the second object to join it. It looked as though they were flying so high into the sky that they disappeared they got fainter and fainter. More peculiar was that the third light followed the same path and when it got to the same spot it did exactly as the other 2 did. I was so intrigued, I could not explain it. my partner and me were not the only witnesses as there was a couple who saw them and I heard them say how weird it was, then minutes later another group of people walked by and they said 'how is it possible two aircraft could be that close together with no sound being heard either'. I could not sleep for the rest of the night, I was constantly at the window with my camera and camcorder hoping I could see them again, but they were long gone, it was weird. I felt scared that these could be real, I have never thought about Aliens or strange beings as I think sometimes there honest explanations, in this case, how cleverly they moved direction, (so smoothly), I have NEVER seen anything like this before.” (PE-5C). (ufoinfo).

51/08/13. 28 July 2008 - 19:40 - Leicester Road, Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - An upside down rainbow was observed. Witness stated: As I drove through Earl Shilton, I stopped at the lights in Wood Street when a strange cloud took my attention. It appeared electric blue and pink in colour. The traffic lights changed, and I continued out of Earl Shilton, and down towards the Marston Football Ground. (Leicester Road). I could not help seeing to my right, a very bright, and large, spectrum of light, like a rainbow, without the blue-green tones. It appeared like some celestial light with a white centre. I continued along Leicester Road, turning right onto Stoneygate Drive, where I pulled up to take photos with my mobile camera and I took three shots using the zoom facility. (DE-7A). Explanation: Atmospheric phenomenon. (Hinckley Times). (51/08/13). (8).

Above: The ‘rainbow’ UFO above Leicester Road. An effect known as a Circumzenithal arc, caused by atmospheric conditions, seems to be reasonable explanation for this particular observation

(51/08/13).

51/08/14. 1 August 2008 - 22:45 - Mountsorrel, Leicestershire, UK - Ten "flickering" lights were seen, again moving west to east. Witness stated: “As the two lights came over it was noticeable that they were making no sound at all. We watched them pass over the house flying towards Sileby but they had not gone far before they disappeared.” (PE-5C). Possible explanation: Sky lanterns. (uk-ufo).

77/08/15. 2 August 2008 - 22-15 - Tile Hill, Coventry, UK - A total of 9 orange lights in the sky were observed by 6 witnesses. (PE-5C). (ufoinfo).

51/08/16. 4 August 2008 - 22:00 - East Leake, Leicestershire, UK - An orange orb - hovered. (PE-5C). Possible explanation: Sky lantern. (uk-ufo).

51/08/17. 4 August 2008 - 22:30 - Barrow, Leicestershire, UK - 10 orange orbs in the sky were reported. Witness stated: “I saw 10 of the orbs travelling from an easterly direction, then turning northerly, at about two minute intervals.” (PE-5C). Possible explanation: Sky lanterns. (uk-ufo).

  8 August 2008 - More UFO sightings reported - Loughborough Echo. (51/08/16).

51/08/18. 9 August 2008 - 21:50 - Birstill, Leicestershire, UK - Four Birstall villagers saw an orb over Watermead Park. Witness (A) stated: “It wasn't making a sound. It was large and orange, we didn't know what it was.” (PE-5C). Possible explanation: Sky lantern. (ufoinfo).

51/08/19. 17 August 2008 - Evening - Loughborough, Leicestershire, UK - An unusual object in the sky that was identified later as a Chinese lantern. (DE-5C). (Gibson).(ufoinfo).

51/08/20. 14 September 2008 - 21:10 - Leicester, UK - A silent orange And shimmering aerial object was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “My interest was sparked this week as on Sunday at 9.10pm. I saw a UFO myself. I live in Leicester and lots of people would have seen this phenomenon as I live on the edge of the city centre in a very busy area. I called the local paper and asked if they had any sighting reported but said they had not. The object was silent orange and shimmering it also changed shape but they was no uniform shape to it. I looked at it through 50x50 binoculars and all I could describe was a orange shimmering light which moved at some speed.” (PE-5C). (Vike).

  51/08/21. 26 October 2008 - 03:00 - Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, UK - A bright nocturnal light resembling a carried LED lamp - Video obtained. (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/08/22. 24 December 2008 - 20:30 - 21:30 - Wigston, Leicestershire, UK - A bright red/orange glow was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “In my garden on Wigston Meadows, myself and my partner saw a bright Red/orange glow which at first I thought was a plane although after a while I noticed the lights were not flashing, just on a constant glow as it got nearer I was expecting to hear its engine as the speed it was going it would have to of been quite low. As it got over head there was no noise just silence but it was not high enough to be a plane because of its fast speed then it just went very dim and just vanished. I would love to know if anyone else witnessed this as I never really believed in this sort of thing until now.” (PE-5C). Possible explanation: Christmas Chinese Lantern. (uk-ufo).

51/08/23. 25 December 2008 - 00:30 -Earl Shilton, Leicestershire, UK - A brilliant light in sky with smaller light separating and descending to the ground was observed. Witness stated: “In the early morning of Thursday 25th December 08, my wife and I were travelling from Hinckley in Leicestershire to Earl Shilton. We were visiting friends after attending a midnight Christmas service at a local Church. At approximately 12:30 am we entered the A47 perimeter road into Earl Shilton, which is under construction. Just before entering the road entitled “Carr’s Hill”, I observed a large reddish light towards the northeast. The light was stationary or moving very slowly. I did not mention it to my wife at the time as she was driving. Suddenly the light became slightly brighter and from beneath the light appeared a smaller light, which immediately descended to the ground and disappeared. The smaller light seemed to be controlled as it descended very slowly. I mentioned it to my wife and she confirmed she had also observed it. We drove to the other side of Shilton, which opens up to the soar valley and we would be able to see the night view of the countryside stretching to the light haze of Leicester, however both light sources were not to be seen. Due to observing only a light source in the middle of the night, I am unable to give a true perspective of size, the light source did disappear behind the hill of Earl Shilton village and therefore the light source would have been of considerable size. Using this perspective I would estimate that the light descended toward the area of small village called Thurlaston. My wife and I can rule out a meteor, as the light was all but stationary, with complete cloud cover, or indeed, a firework, as it appeared in the sky for too long to sustain such brightness, and besides, flares go up not down.” (PE-5C). Possible explanation: Christmas Day Chinese Lantern. (nuforc).

51/09/01. 2009 ongoing (and previous years) - Leicester, UK - Several unusual objects in the sky were observed. Witness (A) stated: “The initial object appears as many do as a bright globe of light which moves only in the horizontal up down left & right at a distance of approx 7 miles away & directly over the city of Leicester, & I have seen the same object tracking a plane I was on at 35.000 ft. A secondary & which appears to be a smaller object appears close to the initial object & positions itself using the same mode of moment to the left then directly below the initial object then in a straight line up to it then disappears. I feel the main reason to be able to see the objects clearly is due to the fact that there is less light pollution from Bruntingthorpe airfield, & the best time to view this phenomenon is approx 6.30 am onwards. There are a number of people who can corroborate these happenings. Of late they are becoming more & more blatant & now they are happy to appear for me on a regular basis with multiple witnesses.” (IN-NL). (ufoinfo).

77/09/02. 1 January 2009 - 01:30 - Kenilworth, Warwickshire, UK - 3 orange lights were observed crossing the sky. Witness stated: “Three orange lights travelling in formation from our horizon in the north across our house moving southwards. No chance of them being aeroplane, Chinese lantern or anything else we (my wife also witnessed this) could think of.” (PE-5C). Possible explanation: New Year‘s Day Glo-Lanterns. (uk-ufo).

77/09/03. 13 January 2009 - 19:00 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - A bright light was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “Bright light spotted hovering in air for a good 30 minutes or so at 7 p.m. At first we could just see 1 light but when zoomed in it gave off different colours. After trying to focus the lens I noticed it looked triangular shape. It was moving very slowly put staying in the same area. We filmed it with 2 camera phones 3.2m/p and 5m/p the better camera produced a pulsing effect. Were also viewing it with a night vision scope and binoculars. We seen what looked like helicopters flying around now and then nearby as the distinctive lights gave us the impression that’s what they were. We noticed it was getting lower but this was very slow. The craft was near the location of the quarry next to farmers field which I know off the back of my hand. We popped next door for a short time, came back about 9.45 and it had gone.” (PE-2B). Witness (A) stated: “Whilst standing outside smoking a number of people witnessed several strange lights that seemed to float above us at a very high altitude. They seemed to be spaced at equal distances from each other, and glowed with a reddish glow. A few people managed to take photos and video on their telephones as they went over. Once they had moved away a short space they then seemed to rise and disappear.” (PE-5C). (nuforc).

51/09/09. 23 February 2009 - 22:00 - Shepshed, Leicestershire, UK - Ball of flame moving over North Leicestershire. Witness stated: “At first glance it looked like an aircraft on fire but there was no sound, it was moving fairly fast in a south easterly direction. It was just a bright flame, no flashing lights. I tried filming it but the footage isn't great, I couldn't get a focus on it. It disappeared over my house so I ran around to the front but it was gone.” (PE-5C). (nuforc).

77/09/10. 26 February 2009 - 19:00 - Coventry, UK - “Low flying sort of star fish shaped UFO - bright red and green large round flashing lights on each side. This was seen hovering.” (PE-2B). (uk-ufo).

77/09/11. 3 March 2009 - 02:30 - M40 Motorway, Warwickshire, UK - A bright orange cloud-like glow was observed in the sky by a lone male witness. Witness stated: “I was travelling north on the M40. In a NW direction I saw an orange glow in the sky. The sky was thick with cloud and I was amazed just how big this was and how bright it must have been to shine through the clouds. It looked like a bright orange cloud. It disappeared and re-appeared about 10 miles further up the motorway. I wound the window down and slowed to about 40 mph. I could hear no sound, I ruled out helicopter or aircraft due to the size of this object.” (PE-3C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/12. 5 March 2009 - 20:00 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - Morrisons car-alarm incident. (Non-UFO Event).

51/09/13. 11 March 2009 - Evening - Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, UK - Two circular orange orbs rotating around an unseen object as the object moved very fast and low across the sky. Witness stated: “It was very bright and made no noise what so ever Within 10-15 seconds it disappeared I have seen a few unknown objects in this area, I arrive home late from work and my road leads up to a big open field leaving the sky really exposed. I have kept a look out for strange occurrences many times and am rarely disappointed. Large lights like stars unexplainably disappearing etc., but this incident happened right above the houses, there was no sound or vibrations like a plane or a helicopter.” (PE-5C). (nuforc).

77/09/15. 28 March 2009 - 16:45 - Attleborough, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - A black/silver aerial object was observed by lone male witness. Witness stated: I was sitting down eating dinner with family on the decking at home I was looking up on a very bright sunny day and noticed the planes and vapour trails - I then noticed a black to silvery object going at such a speed from north to south - no trails no sound and there was no cloud cover. As an ex-army veteran I have seen both normal and war planes and other devices, but I have not seen anything like this before, plus it was quiet and cylindrical no markings just very fast. The speed it moved together with its movement, did not correspond to gravitational qualities.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).
51/09/16. 4 April 2009 - 21:00 - Burbage, Leicestershire, UK - A bright orange globe was observed in the sky. Witness stated: ‘‘I was driving home from a friends house, and as I turned into Azalea Drive, I saw a globe, about the size of a melon, drifting along above the rooftops, very low, no more than a mile high. It was filled with bright orange flames, travelling east, there was no sound. (PE-5C). (lufoin).

77/09/17. 11 April 2009 - 21:30 - Coventry, UK - 2 blue/green orbs in the sky were observed. Witness stated: “We were walking the dogs and one of them got spooked and wouldn't walk further. My companion spotted a single blue/green orb moving around above us, first from left to right, back to left, around in a semi-circle, then in a zigzag fashion. There didn't seem to be any pattern. At times it would stop and stay still for a moment. Suddenly a second orb joined it, following at times and then leading.” (IN-NL). (ufoinfo).

51/09/18. 18 April 2009 - 22:30 - Belgrave, Leicester, UK - A red-orange ball shaped light descending towards a building rooftop was observed. Witness stated: “I was picking a friend up from a pub on Law Street in Belgrave, Leicester, England. When I reached Law Street, I parked up and was waiting for him to exit the pub and then it happened. This red-orangey coloured glowing ball came gliding past my line of sight in the night sky heading towards a high rise building. At this point I was so engrossed in this phenomenon that I did not have time to take a picture or record a video. It actually looked like it was landing on the building as it was lower than the height helicopters fly at. As it disappeared from view several other random people witnessed it too. To my amazement we all said the same thing to each other 'did you just see that?' I ran round the other side of the building to see if I could see anything on the roof but it was gone and couldn't be seen in the sky either. Strange. Very strange because if it didn't land then it would have been still heading in that direction.” (PE-5C). (nuforc).

51/09/19. 3 May 2009 - 23:00 - Lockington, Leicestershire, UK - A silent ball of orange fire was observed in the sky. Witness (A) stated: “Last night, my partner and I saw what we at first thought was a plane on fire near East Midlands Airport. It seemed to be flying over Kegworth quite low and there was no sound, as it disappeared behind trees another one came into view following the same flight path, it looked like and was silent also. I ran round to the front of the house to see if they were going to the airport but they had disappeared. The silence was eerie. There's definitely some sort of pattern here.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/20. 16 May 2009 - Evening - Kibworth, Leicestershire, UK - 3 orange/red objects moving at a slow speed were observed by family travelling by car. Witness (A) stated: “Whilst driving home we saw 3 orangey red objects moving at slow speed shaped like a soccer ball, they looked like fireballs. I stopped and got out of the car, one of them came towards us quite low and then went back up into the air and disappeared, carried on driving for approximately one mile then saw two more right near my house and took a photograph on my mobile phone. The object is very small on the photo as they were travelling away from us. It was so amazing to see, we have never seen anything like it in our lives. If you require the photograph I have it.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/21. 16 May 2009 - 21:40 - Tanworth-in-Arden, Warwickshire, UK - 20 lights in the sky were observed. Witness (A) stated: “We sighted approximately 20 lights in the sky which we thought were lasers reflecting of the clouds from a distance. We then pulled over on a motorway bridge above the motorway and got out of the car. On closer inspection it looked like 20 or so objects of some sort with a flickering orange light surrounding them travelling in a perfect formation through the clouds. We watched for around 2 minutes before they disappeared out of sight to the north of the motorway. There were then two identical objects that were travelling a short distance behind.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/22. 23 May 2009 - 23:15 - Arley, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - An orange flickering object in the sky. (PE-5C). (ufoinfo).

77/09/23. 23 May 2009 - 23:32 - Rugby, Warwickshire, UK - An orange fire looking object in the skies was observed by 3 male witnesses. Witness (A) stated: “After coming back from a relaxing night out and being in the house for a while, we went outside for a cigarette where we were all spooked by what we saw above us - this thing was fast and had no sound at all. It was at first going from right to left and was heading behind the roof of the house, so we ran to the back of the garden, and by the time we looked up it was above us. My friend got his mobile phone out and started to record and got a minute or so of film. The object moved very, very fast to the left and then stopped dead which is not normal, it seemed to had stopped for about 7 or 8 seconds and then shot of southbound and vanished within a fraction of a second....I have been fishing for 25 years and spent a lot of time looking up to the stars at night , but I have never in my life seen anything like this ever, very strange.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/24. 24 May 2009 22:30 - Warwick, Warwickshire, UK - A red dot in the sky was observed - object rose up and vanished - photographed. (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/25. 25 May 2009 - 16:00 - Stoke Golding, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - A silver, disc-shaped aerial object was observed by 2 witnesses. Witness (A) stated: “I decided as it was a glorious day to go for a walk with the dog with my partner. The grass looked so inviting and there was not a soul any where around and the air seemed quite still. We lay in the grass only for a spilt second and above us, we both could see in the sky a silver object which was neither round more disc shape and hazy almost changing shape from round to disc with a very prominent black dot in the centre. Neither of us said any thing to each other just watched in complete silence as it was still high above us but then in a very erratic motion started to go up and down really fast in a horizontal zigzag manner. There was no sound heard at all and not a cloud in the sky that day. I tried to stand up but in that split second it just whizzed out of view by banking to the left at a tremendous speed... within seconds there were two planes military type in the sky side my side , a micro light and 2 hang gliders it was incredible. Now either these other people saw it and were trying to get closer I don't know all I know within seconds of the UFO darting away to the left all the others did. We sat up and 2 people had joined the field with us but we did not call out well we were still in shock. We could only say to each other did you see that? I said we should say no more but go home and draw what we had seen, we sat away from each other in the house then put the sheet of paper together. Although the shape was slightly different the black dot was exactly the same and the way we described the movement of the UFO going up in a jagged motion. We have told a couple of friends who did not say much and I have recorded the event in my own diary. Time wise maybe it lasted 1-2 minutes max conditions a sunny day with no clouds.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/09/26 30 May 2009 - 22:50 - Middleton, Leicestershire, UK - Witness stated: “9 orange glowing lights equally spaced - no noise - heading north west. Over period of about 10 minutes. Seemed very low but disappeared very quickly. No flashing lights as plane lights show.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/27. 30 May 2009 - 23:00 - Leicester, UK - 2 orange balls of fire were observed in the sky. (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/27(b). 31 May 2009 - Coventry, UK - 22:56 - Several objects were observed by four witnesses. Witness (A) stated: “Four members of my family tonight witnessed what we can only describe as UFO’s. Its a clear quiet night and whilst sitting in our living room my dad saw the first ball of what resembled fire came over our house. We all went outside and watched 2 come over and then a couple of minutes later a 3rd. They all moved at a reasonable speed, much faster than a Chinese lantern would and so we dismissed that, and they were too far separated to be tied together but they all moved off in the same direction. They were large up close and the light did not appear to fade as they moved off into the distance. I have sent a short video separately alongside this statement.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/28. 1 June 2009 - 15:15 - Barwell, Leicestershire, UK - A silver disc that hovered above the Burbage Common area - rapid side movements were observed. Witness stated: Walking up Stapleton Lane I noticed a silver disc-shape high in the sky, over towards Leicester. It caught my eye as it did not appear to be moving - I continued to watch it until I got to Top Town, and it still had not moved. I then stopped to observe it and as I did so, it made a rapid sideways movement a little way to the left and then the same to the right, ending up in its original position. It repeated this manoeuvre once more after a few seconds. (IN-Med). (Kavanagh). (lufoin).

51/09/29. 14 June 2009 - Late Evening - Aylestone, Leicester, UK - A large dome-shaped object on the ground - internal shimmering effect - lifted off the ground like a sheet - no sound. Witness stated: When the Sun went down, I looked out from an upstairs room across the garden and the field beyond, and saw what I thought at first was a bonfire in front of the hedge at the bottom of the field. However, I kept looking at this and realised it was definitely not and had a distinct shape with moving vertical lights. To my amazement, the shape rose straight off the ground into the sky. The shape suddenly changed moving rapidly across the sky between my house and my neighbours.(DE-5C). Explanation: Chinese lantern launch. (Moore). (lufoin).

ABOVE: The Aylestone UFO of June 14th., - (Original witness drawings).

51/09/30. 20 June 2009 - 23:30 - Leicester, UK - Witness stated: Eight orange spherical objects were hovering overhead in perfect formation at about a height of 100m above the ground. After a few minutes the formation elevated and disappeared rapidly.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/31. 21 June 2009 - 01:40 - Leicester, UK - A formation of star-sized lights in the sky were observed in the sky by lone male witness. Witness stated: “I saw a formation of star-sized lights moving in formation west to east across the southern sky - long enough for me to get my binoculars and ascertain it was not a plane with wing/ tail lights & co. but collectively about double the size, that is six or more separate star-like lights moving steadily across the sky between a patch of nearby trees and a rooftop of the adjoining house. A few seconds later two similar globes swept out in a loop across the sky apparently following the formation. The star-like objects were not the colour of stars but red to orange if my memory serves. The formation was symmetrical and , I think, a regular square shape with a 'star' top left and bottom right of the square. I was going to get my camcorder but would have missed the display if it had, since it took place in a relatively small area of sky between the trees and the rooftops. I have no idea what it was, but I do see planes regularly flying from that direction, which I think is that of Stoughton aerodrome. But this wasn't a plane; I've no idea what it was. I guess someone else must have seen it since it was Saturday night/Sunday morning. I'm totally mystified.” (PE-5C).(uk-ufo).

77/09/32. 27 June 2009 - 22:20 - Attleborough, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - A hovering fireball was observed. Witness (A) stated: “On returning to Attleborough from the direction of the Pingles, we saw a what appeared to be a fire ball hovering in the air above the fields at the bottom of Crow hill. I drove towards it to get a better look but it quickly rose very high up into the sky, it then dropped down and changed to a large black mass and continued to move slowly down and towards the direction of the Attleborough industrial estate, it was not falling straight down but moving along as if to land, I tried to follow it but it disappeared behind the houses. It had been a very hot day, there was no wind and as I drove past the playing fields and there was a fog over the field and road. it was a very strange experience. Also I saw 2 young men one in a car and the other on a bike next to the car, pointing at the object from Garrett street so I know we were not the only people to see it.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/33. 27 June 2009 - 22:30 - Coalville, Leicestershire, UK - Two orange aerial objects. (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/34. 28 June 2009 - 22:30 - Leicester, UK - 2 bright orange flickering lights in the sky were observed. (PE-5C). (ufoinfo).

77/09/35. 1 July 2009 - 23:32 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - A large orange ball of light was observed in the sky by 2 male witnesses. Witness (A) stated: “We were standing at the top of the garden in Queens Road looking at the stars with my telescope when my Dad alerted me to a large orange ball hovering above the house, it seemed to move towards us with speed as it suddenly became larger! I grabbed my phone and managed to record some good footage of it. When enlarging the video, what we saw as a large orange ball looks more like a golden square with a gap underneath it, where there looks to be yellow ball shapes spinning? below them again a golden square shape? It seemed to dance on the spot for a short time before darting to the left, it then seemed to move closer before slowly moving down behind the houses across the street where the old football ground used to be. This object was far too for us to mistake it for a plane or anything else, and by the enlarged film we cannot link it to anything explainable.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/36. 4 July 2009 - 22:30 - Arley, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - Witness stated: “The lights were orange/Red in colour and moved around the sky for about 1 hour in groups of up to 3 - what I saw but other people say they saw up to five. I have a few photos of these lights.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/37. 5 July 2009 - 01:00 - Leicester, UK - Witness (A) stated: “A group of four of us were sitting in our garden having a nightcap and a chat when I noticed a bright light coming towards us in a straight line. It was travelling roughly south to north and went right above us and made no noise at all. It seemed to be quite low and big and as it got closer it appeared to be flickering as though it was on fire - we thought it must be a meteor or fireball. However as we were watching it disappeared into the distance. I turned around to see a second one coming on exactly the same path and same speed. my brother captured the second one on his phone camera but it only shows as a dot in the sky. I have always been a bit sceptical about UFOs, but am still stunned by what we saw and can't believe that it's not been reported on the news.” (DE-5C). (uk-ufo).

Witness stated: There were 6 or 7 of them, and they were travelling across the sky in a perfect line - there was no noise from them, they were bright red, it was so strange - it was the fact that they were in such a straight line that made it look so unusual. (PE-5C). (Gutteridge). (uk-ufo).

These were followed by more approx 50 - 60 bright, silent lights travelling at speed, all in formation following the same route. About 20 other people witnessed this phenomenon.” (DE-5C). Definite explanation: Chinese Glo lanterns. (uk-ufo).

51/09/54. 7 August 2009 - 22:00 - Queniborough, Leicestershire, UK - 100 orange lights in the sky were reported by lone male witness. Witness stated: “I ran outside , and as I looked up, there were around 100 lights travelling through the sky quite quickly - too fast to be sky lanterns.” (Burton). (DE-5C). Definite explanation: Chinese Glo lanterns. *See Item 6: Press Report Log 2006-2012. (uk-ufo).

77/09/55. 7 August 2009 - 23:10 - Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, UK - A solid orange light flying in a straight line was observed by 3 witnesses. Witness stated: “My Wife, oldest son & myself returned home .As we were getting out of the car we were discussing the moon as it was particularly bright. My Wife saw a bright orange circle of light fly from the left hand side over the top of the houses. She alerted us to it. We watched the towards the right .It was travelling roughly the same speed as a plane - there was no noise .The light travelled in a virtually straight line. We watched for about 30 seconds approx before it disappeared out of view. There have been many local sightings of lights but these have usually been dismissed as Chinese lanterns, but after viewing a few websites we can definitely say that what we saw was not one of these.” (PE-5C). Probable Chinese Sky Lantern. (uk-ufo).

51/09/56. 8 August 2009 - 21:30 - Coalville, Leicestershire, UK - 3 globular aerial objects. (IN-NL). (ufoinfo).

51/09/56 (b). 8 August 2009 - 21:30 - Coalville, Leicestershire, UK - 5 low flying red lights in the sky were observed. Witness stated: “5 low flying red lights, like lanterns rising across the sky. We also saw one several weeks ago which went out and then looked like it dropped very fast, black against low cloud.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/57. 8 August 2009 - 21:30 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - Witness stated: “I was sitting at the computer downstairs when I heard a noise off in the distance (my dog also heard it and started whining so I went to the front door to look outside and see what it was and for the second time that night I saw red lights in the sky, This time there were four of them flying in diagonal line and moving in the same direction as the last ones (from north to south). over time they split up and disappeared individually. I managed to get some on video which I cannot provide at this time but I shall when I get the equipment needed.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/58. 8 August 2009 - 21:45 - Leicester, UK - “All in all there were 6 lights, 2 red, 4 whitish/orange - I’m ex military and seen a lot of lights in skies etc, but I’ve have no idea what my friend and I witnessed last night.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/59. 8 August 2009 - 22:00 - Attleborough, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - Witness stated: “We noticed four bright orange globes in a perfect diagonal line. They continued to rise in a perfect formation before all four made an arch like shape. The bottom two then disappeared and then the remaining two carried on in a diagonal line until they both vanished at the same time.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/60. 8 August 2009 - 22:10 - Burbage, Leicestershire, UK - 2 red lights in the sky were observed by married couple. Witness (A): stated: “My Wife and I witnessed what we first thought was a plane with a very bright red light at the front and a small red flashing light just behind (like a normal aircraft). It was heading from NE Hinckley towards SW/Coventry. The unusual thing was that the bright red light actually looked as if it was a fire; we were very concerned and followed the lights until they crossed rooftops, went to the front of our house but the thing had disappeared. No matter where we looked, we could not see it again.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/60 (b). 8 August 2009 - 23:45 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - 3 red/orange orbs in the sky were observed. Witness stated: “We saw 3 red/orange orbs in the sky that looked very strange. They were equally spaced and in a diagonal line. We were looking SE from Outlands drive. They seemed to fade from the outside into the centre as we watched.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/61. 10 August 2009 - 23:45 - Burbage, Leicestershire, UK - A nocturnal unidentified bright ball of white light was observed in the sky. 51/09/62. 11 August 2009 - 09:30 - Leicester, UK - A hovering object in the sky was observed by 2 witnesses. Witness (A) stated: We Had gone to the top of our north west facing back garden to sit in the summer house which faces South. Watched helium filled balloons rising from the local garden centre then left the summer house to watch these balloons level off. As one levelled off and went west we noticed a star but didn't think anything off it as I just thought it was a rare daylight sighting of Venus. My partner watched it for a little longer, saying that he thought it was moving towards us (east) so I came back out of the summerhouse to look saying he was daft and that it was just an illusion with the fluffy clouds moving but it then did start moving, slower than the balloons and in northwest direction. This all happened over roughly 20 minutes.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

77/09/62(b). 11 August 2009 - 21:00 - Allesley, Coventry, UK - A vivid bright orange aerial light was observed. Witness stated: “Looking at night sky anticipating seeing a meteor shower / shooting stars mentioned on the BBC earlier this morning. However saw a vivid bright orange light travelling across the sky in what i believe to be a West to Easterly direction. First thought was that it was an aircraft on fire as it was triangular in shape which passed directly overhead without any sound. I’m unable to say at what height this object was but lower than usual for aircraft. Have seen aircraft/helicopters frequently overhead at all times of the day living close to Baggington and Birmingham Airports and this was definitely something else, couldn’t rule out it being a hot air balloon.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/63. 13 August 2009 - 22:05 - Loughborough, Leicestershire, UK - Witness stated: “I saw an orange glow come from behind some trees - appeared to be accelerating, and moving up.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/66. 22 August 2009 - 21:40 - Coalville, Leicestershire, UK - Two orange lights travelling slowly across the sky were observed by two witnesses. Witness (A) stated: “My partner and I were just sitting in the garden when 2 orange objects appeared in the sky, at first we thought aircraft as we live near an airport but these objects made no noise and were flying close together in a north west direction.” (PE-5C). (nuforc).

51/09/67. 22 August 2009 - 23:45 - Between Shepshed and Whitwick, Leicestershire, UK - 2 lots of 4 orange aerial lights in a square formation were reported - formations broke apart. (PE-5C).(uk-ufo).

77/09/68. 23 August 2009 - 03:05 - Whitestone, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - Witness stated: “Awakening at 3.00am, too hot, I decided to open the window of the bedroom. I saw something which caught my eye. I put on my glasses and could see clearly a strange light in the sky. I thought it was like a disco ball spinning in the sky. It was very symmetrical, with equidistant white lights which we observed for over an hour and I took video footage on his phone. We were amazed!!! But when we looked at the video footage later that day, we could see nothing.” ( PE-3H). (uk-ufo).

51/09/69. 23 August 2009 - 03:15 - M69 Motorway, Hinckley, UK - 6 lights in a circle were observed - rotated - crossed sky and returned - repeated same action several times over a 5 minute period. Witness stated: Travelling on M69, no cars nearby and no lights on the motorway, with my wife and kids, I saw 5 to 6 lights in a circle, rotating and moving above my car on the left side, and the lights were not strong, but easily visible. (approx. 50 feet in the air). I was travelling at around 70 m.p.h. and the lights were travelling at the same speed. They then rotated around and went in front of the car, approx. 30 feet away. They did this for about 5 minutes, going to the side of the car, and then advancing to the front and then disappearing. I even switched off my car lights, but the lights were still in the sky. My Wife and son also witnessed this as well. There were no helicopters in the sky and no Moon. (PE-8H). Possible explanation: Nightclub spotlights. (beams).

Laser/Spot/ Searchlights...(IFO:8H).

77/09/70. 23 August 2009 - 21:00 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - Witness stated: I saw a bright orange ball going across the sky it started off going really slow the sped up and disappeared. there was no sound and there was no wind so was very strange to how this was moving.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/71. 23 August 2009 - 22:45 - Bedworth, Warwickshire, UK - A huge beam of light was observed. Witness stated: Whilst watching a DVD on Sunday night and thought a torch was shining into the house, when I looked outside and huge beam of light was moving quickly left to right and upwards and downwards, like a searchlight, but then turned red and then went really bright almost blinding to the eye then kept re-appearing every couple of minutes!! There was no sound and surely was not a helicopter or plane or car with a search light - really would like an explanation.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/09/72. 25 August 2009 - 22:25 - Leicester, UK - A steady orange light in the sky was observed - silent. Witness stated: “I live 2.5 miles south east of Leicester City Centre. I have just seen a steady orange light move silently, at incredible speed, across the sky over our heads, and eventually out into space (you could tell it was leaving the atmosphere by the way it shimmered and dimmed out of view). I have observed the sky many times and have watched aircraft at night etc. I have never seen anything remotely like this. Far exceeds any man-made aircraft that are discussed in public. Don't believe what people tell you about Chinese lanterns. This was high, fast, silent, straight as an arrow, and bound for space.” (PE-5C). Explanation: Chinese ‘glo Lantern. (uk-ufo).

51/09/73. 26 August 2009 - 21:00 - Leicester, UK - Witness stated: A large orange glowing ball moving over the rooftops it moved very quickly and in a straight line -I know it wasn’t any kind of lantern or fire balloon.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/74. 29 August 2009 - 23:20 - Loughborough, Leicestershire, UK - Orange lights in the sky were observed by 2 male security staff members. Witness (A) stated: “My colleague and I were working at a gatehouse when we were distracted by two bright orange lights rising up towards the sky. We went outside to have a closer look when there were 7 other bright orange lights in the sky travelling slowly towards Loughborough town centre. One light stopped, got brighter, flickered a little and then moved on a lot faster then the other lights. They all disappeared into the sky but a minute or two later one more followed in the same direction and disappeared. This whole ordeal lasted around 15 minutes.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/74(b). 29 August 2009 - 22:35 - Coventry, UK - 11 red lights in the sky were observed. Witness (A) stated: At around 10:35, my mother went to let the dog outside and just happened to look up. She saw around eleven red lights, flying in what seemed to be a formation. She told me and I looked, there were many of them and they were noiseless and moved at the same speed. I captured a group of three of them on video. After telling a relative, she reported that her neighbour had seen 100 in 20 minutes. They were not planes, there were far too many, and they were different in shape and colour to Chinese Lanterns. These were reported all over the city. At around 11:10, all the red lights mysteriously vanished without warning, and in sequence.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo). 1 Comment.

77/09/74(c). 29 August 2009 - 23:15 - Keresley, Coventry, UK - Two very bright orange lights were observed in the sky.Witness stated: “Two very bright orange lights travelling east flew above my house. The lights were far too big to be a plane or helicopter and both were travelling very slowly and in the same direction. There was no noise from these UFO’s, and they were far too low in the air not to produce noise if they were helicopters.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo). 9 Comments.

51/09/75. 30 August 2009 - 02:01 - Earl Shilton, Leicestershire, UK - Witness stated: “Bright orange ball of light moving across the sky steadily, duration about one minute thirty, slight details of fire, no sound - I've seen Chinese lanterns in the sky and was definitely not one.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/76. 31 August 2009 - 20:20 - Rugby, Warwickshire, UK - An unusual aerial object was observed by an ex-pilot. Witness stated: “I was a qualified private pilot and am still a regular flier on commercial aircraft. I trained at Coventry airport which is 10 miles away and so am very familiar with normal traffic using Coventry and Birmingham. On 31st. Aug 2009 at 8.20 pm I was in my partners garden looking at the stars when a circular object came into view from behind a cloud. I called my partner into the garden straight way to witness what I was seeing and she viewed the entire sighting along with me. I had no reference data but would estimate an altitude of 1500 - 2000 ft, the speed of a light aircraft, probably 80-100 mph, heading 040 degrees. The object was very clearly visible and was neither a traditional aircraft nor a balloon. It was circular in shape but had a structure which resembled flower petals extending outwards from the centre. The 'petals' where very strongly illuminated and appeared to be glowing as if they were on fire. Then overlaid at the centre of the craft was a similar array of 'petals' contained within the radius of the wider array. These too were very bright and similarly appeared to be almost on fire, with a shimmering yellow / orange glow. The craft was heading steadily to the NE on 040 degrees which I accurately determined later from Google Earth. It was a quiet and still evening but there was absolutely no sound. The direction/heading was steady, although I did get the impression of very very small variations in direction, although this might well have been caused by atmospheric distortion. Having watched this totally bewildered for about 40 seconds, a second identical craft came into view on exactly the same track, heading and altitude as the first, with a horizontal separation of about a mile. We watched the two travel steadily across the sky until one by one they went behind clouds and faded from view. I would estimate that we watched them for a least a minute and that they probably travelled within our site for about 3 miles. I've never seen anything like this before.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/77. September 2009 - Late evening - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - 12 aerial globular lights - came together - disappeared. (PE-8H). (lufoin).

51/09/78. 2 September 2009 - 22:30 - Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, UK - Witness stated: “Two silent circular orange orbs rotating around an unseen object as the object moved very fast and low across the sky.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/79. 3 September 2009 - 20.57 - Syston, Leicestershire, UK - A fast moving glowing orange ball of light was observed in the sky by 2 witnesses. Witness (A): stated: “My partner and I were watching TV when we both caught sight of something moving out of the large windows to the right of us. It was a really fast moving glowing orange ball moving really fast in a straight line, high in the sky, by the time we stood up to get closer to the window it had already gone (moving from the East to West).” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/80. 4 September 2009 - 21:35 - Kibworth, Leicestershire, UK - Witness stated: “A bright orange ball in the sky heading roughly north/north east - very fast and totally silent.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/81. 10 September 2009 - 19:45 - Ellistown, Leicestershire, UK - Numerous aerial lights were observed. Witness stated: “We were driving through Ellistown on Thursday 10th September at 19:45 hours as I looked out of the window to the right I noticed a bright white light in the sky moving from side to side and travelling at some pace, the object was a lot bigger & brighter than the North Star, So we pulled in to a small car park over looking a football pitch in Hugglescote so we could get a clearer view of the sky, We noticed that behind the bright light was a number of smaller objects that were travelling very fast, too fast to be an aeroplane or a helicopter, these was also very bright white but they had red & blue flashing lights at the sides, the smaller ones flew the same path at each other, they circled round the Coalville area which took them approximately 8/10 minutes each to complete the circuit. Roughly, we saw 12/15 of the smaller objects flying the same path in the sky, as they circled they got closer & closer to us, So close that as we stood there in amazement one flew directly over our heads, &, as the object flew over us, what was more astonishing was there was no sound till it eventually passed over us, the noise we heard was no aeroplane nor did it resemble an aeroplane. It was a crystal clear night & the view was perfect, so perfect I filmed the events on my mobile phones.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/09/82. 10 September 2009 - 21:32 - Whitwick, Leicestershire, UK - Various lights in the sky were observed by 2 witnesses. Witness (A) stated: “I was walking my girlfriend home when we looked up in the sky when we saw a bright light. We know that the North star is the brightest in the sky and this was twice as bright as that. We carried on walking not thinking much of it. The light then shot up in the air leaving a red trail and then disappeared, and then re-appeared next to another bright light; but not as bright as the first - they were both stopped and then they started moving towards each other, the second stopped, but the first carried on going fairly fast it then disappeared. As we were focusing on the first light, a tree then got in the way of the sighting, so we walked out of the way so we could see the light but then we seen that is gone.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/09/83. 12 September 2009 - 21:00 - South Wigston, Leicestershire, UK - 2 orange globular lights were observed in the sky by lone male witness. (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/84. 12 September 2009 - 21:00 - Coventry, UK - An orange glow in the sky was observed. Witness stated: “At about the time stated I was upstairs in my bathroom brushing my teeth. I looked up to see an orange glow through the window. I thought at first it may be a police helicopter searchlight, but there was not a sound. It was moving very slowly. On opening the window I saw something that put me into shock. Being an amateur astronomer, I am used to watching the night sky, and I know what I saw. I eliminated all the usual suspects within 5 seconds, to be left with something I can only say was not made by human hands. Drifting slowly and silently across about 100 feet up towards Coventry airport was an orange rugby ball type shape, a sort of orange haze all round it, strobe type lighting oscillating underneath. Above it appeared an orange beam from a small dome on the roof, shining or probing upwards, as if searching for something. By now I was in my garden, but my brother inside the house said a local radio station, reported a similar sighting from a listener simultaneously. I remain convinced what I saw, and for me I believe my doubts about other life types is over.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

77/09/85. 12 September 2009 - 22:31 - Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, UK - Witness (A) stated: “My partner and I witnessed on a very clear night, numerous orange lights (about 15) travelling from Stratford over our village (6 miles south) in a straight line from right to left. These were definitely not Chinese lanterns.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/86. 17 September 2009 - 21:30 - Whitestone, Maple Park, Warwickshire, UK - A circle of green balls of light was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I saw a white spread of lights doing a circular rotation below cloud level. Coming closer and then further away and changing shape slightly now and again. 2 black ball - shaped objects in the sky drawing closer to each other and also changing shape to a funnel shape as they got closer they were in the air above us for all the time we remained at the site (only about half an hour) It was deadly quiet and not a sound in the area. No visible explanation for this as there are only a few houses backing onto the site. The pattern was quite repetitive and so we decided to make our way home. Quite amazing to watch.” (PE-8H). (beams).

77/09/87. 17 September 2009 - 22:30 - Whitestone, Maple Park, Warwickshire, UK - A circle of green balls of light was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I had a text message from my next door neighbour to look outside as they had seen some strange lights in the sky. We looked outside and we saw a massive circular shape made up of green balls of light and the whole shape was spinning first to the right then disappearing then spinning back to the left and disappearing. We watched for about half an hour, then I looked out again about 1 hour later and it was still there.” (PE-8H). (beams).

77/09/88. 18 September 2009 - 00:10 - Bulkington, Warwickshire, UK - 2 circles of misty lights were observed in the sky. Witness stated: My Husband and I are both retired science teachers. We live in Bulkington, a semi-rural location in Warwickshire. On Thursday, September 17th., at about 12.10 a.m., (Friday September 18th.), I went up to bed and, as usual, I went to the window, drew back the curtain, and looked out over the drive, and the drives of three neighbours one house to the right, and two to the left. There is a street light on the right hand boundary of the house to our right, and another to the far left of the bungalow furthest away on the left. This is quite a distance between the lights, so this stretch of the lane is quite dark. There are no lights at all on the other side of the road, the gate to the fields opposite is directly across the road from our house. From the gate to the left, trees bordering the field line the road, for about 100 yards. Briefly, my attention was drawn to what I initially thought was a gust of white smoke, high up, maybe 30 plus feet, ! By the trees to the right of the field gate and above the bungalow (diagonally to my right). My thoughts at that moment was that it might be a garden fire, but then dismissed the idea as ridiculous because of the time. I was about to turn away from the window and go to bed when the oddity appeared, from the same high point in the trees. I can only describe what I saw in the simplest terms possible. A circle of white blobs/mist or smoke, about 20 feet in diameter in total. There was a distinct outer circle, and then an inner circle of these blobs all quite regular in shape, and individually distinct. I have to use the word blobs, because there was no suggestion of substance or solidity about them, and yet they were not amorphous. From my window, they appeared flat, and two dimensional. The entire circle moved sedately across the sky.(PE-8H). (Beams). (lufoin).

77/09/89. 18 September 2009 - 00:10 - Bulkington, UK - A circle of white blobs. (DE-8H). Explanation: Nightclub spotlights on low cloud. (ufoinfo).

77/09/89(b) 18 September 2009 - 22:30 - Coventry, UK - 3 orange lights in the sky were observed by two witnesses. Witness (A) stated: “Me and my girlfriend were just about to set off in my car when I noticed 3 orange lights, the lights were glimmering the best way I could describe them would be a very bright orange star almost like looking into a small decoration light bulb. The objects were travelling from left to right in a plane like motion moving fairly fast. At this point as the three were travelling out of view I asked my girlfriend to get her mobile phone as it was nothing I had seen before. I managed to shoot a video just before the objects moved out of view, just as the 3 left another followed. All heading in the same direction but all clearly at different altitudes. At this point we were fairly confused as to what we just saw and lights were now out of view. We got into the car and headed on our way, around a mile up the road two of the lights came back into sight, still moving at a fast pace but looked slightly closer as the orange colour intensified - The lights I saw were clearly not lanterns and certainly not something I have every seen before.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/90. 25 September 2009 - 19:30 - Leicester Forest East, UK - 5 orange aerial objects with flames underneath were reported. (PE-5C). (ufoinfo).

51/09/91. 25 September 2009 - 19:30 - Leicester Forest East, UK - An oblong/cigar shaped object was observed moving steadily across the horizon by lone male witness. Witness stated: “The object was bright orange, silent, and looked like it was on fire. The object kept stopping and the glow disappeared, then it came back, this went on for around 5 minutes- the oblong shape changed direction but kept on a level course across the horizon. Very strange and definitely not a lantern.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/09/92. 1 October 2009 - 17:30 - Loughborough, Leicestershire, UK - A bright, glowing orange object was observed at rooftop height. Witness stated: (2012 statement) “I saw a bright glowing object move across from Toothill Road rooftops, and come to a stop above my neighbour’s garden, opposite my front garden, less than a hundred yards from where I stood at my gate, and at less than 50 feet altitude - (roof top level). It remained at this position for roughly 10 minutes, and then moved away toward the town centre, at a casual speed. It made no sound whatsoever, and at intervals of roughly 30 seconds, emitted a yellow substance from underneath, which dripped down and then disappeared.” (IN-Med). (lufoin).

77/09/93. 10 October 2009 - 19:50 - Coventry, UK. A huge orange glowing ball of light was observed in the sky at an estimated height of 1,500 - 2000 feet, by 2 witnesses. Witness (A) stated: “We Stood outside in back garden in Counden, Coventry (near Morrisons). Something made me turn around in a south westerly direction. We saw a huge glowing (orange) ball (50 ft square) 1500 to 2000 feet up. No sound at all. Moving south at the speed of plane, maintaining consistent altitude. J was worried as she thought it was a plane on fire and got a little panicky. We tracked it for roughly 30 seconds during which time a smaller glowing ball shot out and disappeared. The object then changed direction slightly westerly I think and disappeared, Not a Chinese lantern.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/94. 11 October 2009 - 21:30 - Leicester. A star-like aerial object was observed by single female witness. Witness stated: I noticed out of my kitchen window, what looked like a very low, but bright star to the south-west. I went outside to get a better look as it was a very clear night. When I was outside, I noticed that it was moving in a downwards angle at about 45 degrees. My immediate thought was that it was a helicopter until it started taking quite an odd flight path, not moving in a straight line as such, more side to side. As it got closer, the colour of the light changed to red and it seemed to revolve to then show a bright green light. At this point, I could see what like four or so lines protruding upwards, also lit by the green light. I carried on watching as it went over my house, whilst still moving in a sweeping motion, until it changed to a bright white light again and disappeared from view, not moving overly fast. Funnily enough, I didnt notice any engine noise.” (PE- 2B). (uk-ufo).

51/09/95. 12 October 2009 - 17:20 - Thurmaston, Leicestershire, UK - A bright orange light was observed by lone male witness - light stopped and rose vertically into the sky. (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/51/09/96. 15 October 2009 - 04:00 - A5 Between Nuneaton and Hinckley, Warwickshire/Leicestershire, UK - Witness stated: “Whilst driving south on the A5 at 4am today I looked at the sky and saw six large red circles / dots in a circle formation. Inside the red dots was a brilliant white / yellow light, which was bigger than the others and very bright - It remained in the sky for around ten seconds and then faded gradually until it disappeared completely.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/97. 22 October 2009 - 22:02 - Coventry, UK - An amber/red coloured ball in the sky moving at a constant speed. (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/98. 24 October 2009 - 18:20 - Coventry, Warwickshire, UK - An object resembling an aircraft on fire was observed in the sky. Witness stated: I saw a bright light travelling through the sky ,at first I thought it was a plane on fire but then its radical movements stunned me, it moved left then down towards earth then straight back up at speed till the light got smaller and then out of sight, I’ve never seen anything like it. I went back indoors and phoned 999 to see if anybody reported it.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/99. 25 October 2009 - 02:00 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire UK - 3 Orange Lights in straight line formation in the sky were observed by 2 Police officers and Hospital staff. Witness (A). stated: ,“We followed an ambulance to George Elliot hospital in Nuneaton. Myself and my colleague left our patrol car, and the ambulance driver got out. He then was looking up at the sky, so I looked to see what he could see. The was a pulsing orange orb travelling across the sky at some speed, we then noticed a second, and finally a third. They were all following exactly the same path, and were spaced the same apart in a line. The first one however was just going out of sight as the third one was entering our vision. That is how fast they were moving.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/100. 25 October 2009 - 01:35 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - 2 pulsating orange lights were observed in the sky by male witness and 2 daughters. Witness (A) stated: “Whilst driving north along A444 towards the George Elliott hospital. My 2 daughters and I saw 2 pulsating orange lights about 10 degrees apart. As we drove on these diverged. We saw these for approx 90 seconds then went under a bridge. When we came out they had gone. This area is regularly flown over by aircraft from Birmingham and higher level flights, so we are used to aircraft lights at night. These were definitely not normal aircraft lights. I’ve never seen anything like this before. A PC has also reported seeing similar lights at this time.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/09/100 (b). 26 October 2009 - 20:22 - Coventry, UK - two ascending lights in the sky were observed.

(IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

77/09/101. 28 October 2009 - 20:30 - Cheverel Street, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - “We saw 3 red lights in the sky moving diagonally in the sky.” (PE-5C).(uk-ufo).

Witness (A). stated: “We all saw 4 strange orange lights moving slow in a line they appeared for about 2/3 minutes then strangely disappeared into the mist - my mum said they were maybe meteors.” (PE-5C). Probable (pre) Halloween sky lanterns. (uk-ufo).

 LEFT: Chinese (Halloween) Sky Lanterns.

51/09/103. 3 November 2009 - 20:00 - Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, UK - Two circular orange orbs rotating around an unseen object as the object moved very fast and low across the sky. It was very bright and made no noise what so ever Within 10-15 seconds it disappeared. (PE-5C). Probable explanation: Pre-Bonfire Night Lantern Launch. (uk-ufo).+ (nuforc).

51/09/104. 3 November 2009 - 19:45 - Leicester, UK - “A huge orange sphere slowly rose into the sky...it stopped me in my tracks. I was unable to identify it, meaning, it was not a plane, helicopter or Chinese lantern..( way too big). It appeared to rise from ground level, and was massive, and very orange.” (PE-5C). Probable explanation: Pre-Bonfire Night Lantern Launch. (uk-ufo).

51/09/105. 5 November 2009 - 19:30 - Leicester, UK -3 bright orange flying objects, equally spaced, flying extremely fast, no sound, looks like they were almost on fire.1 hour later 2 more were seen. (PE-5C). Possible Explanation: Bonfire Night Chinese Lanterns. (nuforc).

51/09/106. 5 November 2009 - 19:30 - Eyres Monsell, Leicester, UK - Three orange aerial lights were reported over the area by married couple. Witness (A). Stated: “whilst looking out the window at fireworks with my Wife, we could see an orange light. It moved quite quickly at first then it slowed down. The light was like a flare, bright like fire. It hovered and moved back east as it did the light went dim...8 minutes later it came back, and it was bright again, so I ran upstairs to get my digital camera and look out my bedroom window...as I did so my wife shouted up to me saying that another light had joined the other. As I started filming the two lights, I could see another coming from the north and moving quickly towards them - it met the original two and stayed in a perfectly spaced triangle formation..(I got this on my camera)..a 4th light did join the formation from the east but it moved out of the view of my camera, but my Wife saw what I saw. The lights hovered in this formation, and, as before, they moved away easterly, and, as they did so, they disappeared. This sighting lasted for a total of 30 minutes.” (DE-5C). Explanation: Bonfire Night Chinese Lanterns. (uk-ufo).

77/09/107. 5 November 2009 - 20:30 - Warwick, Warwickshire, UK - Three orange lights in the sky were observed by lone, male witness. Witness stated “I was walking my dogs in Warwick at around 8 - 8:30pm on bonfire night, when I saw what I initially thought to be spent fireworks. Three orange lights were in a equilateral triangle formation that appeared to be drifting in the wind. When I realised they could not be fire works, I then thought they may be planes or helicopter flying in formation. But when the triangle of lights started moving left and right in formation I thought planes and helicopters can't move like that plus there were no flashing lights. I carried on watching them when the bottom two lights went out and the top remaining light got brighter. After around thirty seconds the bottom two lights reappeared back in formation. They zigzagged left and right for about another twenty seconds, then all the light simultaneously disappeared. I was in Warwick Gates and they were in the east over Southam. They were all the same size and from there movement there is no way they were fireworks or lanterns.” (PE-5C). Possible Explanation: Bonfire Night Chinese Lanterns.(uk-ufo).

77/09/108. 5 November 2009 - 21:00 - Leamington, Warwickshire, UK - 2 red/orange lights were observed in the sky by 2 people. Witness (A) stated: “My partner and I saw two red/orange lights, they seemed to be lower than planes but with no sound. They travelled at constant speed. They were apart from each other at about 1 mile probably but seems closer from ground. They were not fireworks or lanterns as that would be impossible. We saw a plane afterwards which was higher. A plane flashes white lights and was heard. The only thing I can think these were was hand gliders with red lights attached! which is stupid.” (PE-5C). Possible Explanation: Bonfire Night Chinese Lanterns. (uk-ufo).

51/09/109. 7 November 2009 - 23:45 - Leicester, UK - A single, bright glowing orange light was observed in the sky by lone male witness - two further identical glowing lights were seen some minutes later - silent. (PE-5C). (Gibson). (uk-ufo).

51/09/110. 8 November 2009 - Late Evening - Leicester, UK - Orange aerial objects were observed. Witness stated: This is the second night I have seen these strange lights in the sky. Today, more, they seem to travel quite fast, 4 in a line, with the same distance between each one, then the 5th further back. they seem to disappear into nowhere. Around 10 minutes after this sighting in a different direction, I saw firstly a row of three lights, one big white one, a smaller light in the centre, then another big white one at the end, which I would say were all from one flying object. Minutes later, I saw another one of these red lights, very low, very clear, no sound, it looked like a giant candle flame burning red.” (PE-5C). (nuforc).

51/09/111. 12 November 2009 - 05:50 - Ratby Village, Leicester, UK - A star-like orange light in the sky was observed. (PE-5C). (Gibson). (uk-ufo).

51/09/112. 13 November 2009 - 01:15 - Leicester, UK - Several star-like lights of various colours were observed in the sky. (PE-3A/B-7B). (uk-ufo).

51/09/113. 14 November 2009 - 22:00 - Kirby Muxloe, Leicestershire, UK - Two silent, slow moving orange globular lights were observed in the sky by lone male witness. (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/114. 14 November 2009 - Evening - Leicester, UK - 3 red objects that were bright red, 2 were close together with the other following several minutes later. Witness stated: “Driving back from work I saw 2 red lights from some kind of craft, hovering above the town I live in. When I parked up at my house, I walked into the town centre and saw another craft flying overhead. It was quite low down in the sky, made no noise or flashes, but looked as if it was on fire. It was a bright light so would be unusual for a plane, and it was the same as the other 2 craft I saw driving home. It was moving about the same speed as a plane in one direction, but the fact I saw 3 of them in such a short space of time, and the way they were lit up made them seem suspicious. After looking around in the town centre I couldn’t see the 2 other craft, so they’d moved off before I could look at them again. It was a clear night sky so they were very apparent and there were no clouds that could obscure them.” (PE-5C). (nuforc).

51/09/114(b). 15 November 2009 - 17:15 - Ashby De La Zouch, Leicestershire, UK- A large ball of flames that descended, was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I was driving along the A511 towards Ashby De La Zouch from Coalville at about 5.10pm., and saw a big almost ball of flames descend from the sky at an amazing speed. It was too fast and too big to be a plane but then just disappeared as it came down.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

77/09/115. 15 November 2009 - 18:00 - Dunchurch, Warwickshire, UK - 2 red/orange lights went from south to east in a upward diagonal motion. Witness stated: “My husband and I were in the back garden when 2 red/orange lights went from south to east in a upward diagonal motion there was no sounds no flashing lights as you would normally hear/see from an aeroplane or helicopter these then vanished as soon as they had another 2 became visible travelled in the exact same formation and again vanished this happened a few times there was about 14 all together.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/116. 19 November 2009 - 01:00 - Leicester, UK - 2 intense yellow lights and 2 red ones in a square shape with several ‘strange’ aircraft. (PE-5C-1B). (uk-ufo).

51/09/117. 23 November 2009 - 18:00 - Earl Shilton, Leicestershire, UK - A white nocturnal light was seen crossing the sky - seconds later, a similar object returned in the opposite direction. (PE-4A). Probable satellite observations. (lufoin).

77/09/118. 26 November 2009 - 05:00 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - Two white circles of light were observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I looked out of the window and saw two bright white circles in the sky, about the size of a Malteaser. These white discs had an orange glow underneath. They hovered in the same position for about two hours, after this, they rose and disappeared.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/09/119. 27 November 2009 - 15:50 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A very bright, orange glowing ball in the sky was observed by 2 witnesses. Witness (A) stated: “Whilst on my way home from work, driving in Hinckley, Leicestershire, my friend and I spotted a large, very bright, orange glowing ball, moving towards a nearby airport, from our right to left, I assume East Midlands Airport. It was travelling fairly slowly towards the take off path, It was too large to be lights on a plane as it appeared only about 200-300ft in altitude, and we should have been able to see the rest of the plane, and there where no beacons at all. Our view was then blocked by the near trees, when we emerged, it had gone. What was now visible was a plane coming in the opposite direction, taking off, they had been on a collision course until it vanished. It was not a Chinese lantern, as it was far too bright.( I have seen one of those before, and have just examined more pictures of them to make sure). Note: The plane that was taking off appeared to be slightly further back (about 50-100ft ) and we could still see the whole fuselage in the evening light, so we should have been able to see the other plane in full.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/120. 3 December 2009 - 19:45 - Leicester, UK - A large orange sphere that rose into the sky was observed. Witness stated: “My daughter and I were leaving a Chinese take away, I had parked on Kerrysdale Avenue, looking across towards Hamilton, a huge orange sphere slowly rose into the sky...it stopped me in my tracks. I was unable to identify it, meaning, it was not a plane, helicopter or Chinese lantern..( way too big) It got so far up then halted and stayed completely still. We watched for a while , then my daughter said, 'is it me or is it getting smaller?'. It did appear to be getting smaller, but was not travelling in any direction at all. It was hard to decide whether it was moving but eventually it did appear to then have some distance and disappeared ...hard to describe really! Now if something is hard to explain or describe, then it strikes me as not remotely normal. I cant believe no one else saw this, as it was initially very low, it appeared to rise from ground level, and was massive, and very orange.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/09/121. 14 December 2009 - Early Evening - Ratby, Leicestershire, UK - An orange light in the sky was observed. (PE-5C). Possible Christmas Chinese Lantern. (uk-ufo).

51/09/122. 15 December 2009 - 23:00 - Braunstone, Leicestershire, UK - A rotating bright ball of fire was reported - falling debris - faded out. (PE-5C). Probable Christmas Chinese lantern. (Clarke). (lufoin).

51/09/123. 18 December 2009 - 21:30 - Leicester, UK - Two orange globular lights in the sky were observed. Witness stated: I saw Two orange globe lights silently travelling North to South. These were definitely NOT Chinese lanterns - They both stopped then one flew to the east whilst the other flew South East. Then they rejoined then silently and steadily flew off.” (PE-5C). Possible Christmas Chinese Lanterns. (uk-ufo).

51/09/124. 25 December 2009 - 17: 50 - Quorn, Leicestershire, UK - An orange globular light in the sky was observed. (PE-5C). Possible Christmas Day Chinese Lantern. (uk-ufo).

51/09/125. 25 December 2009 - 19:30 - Barlestone, Leicestershire, UK - I just happened to look up and saw three quite bright orange lights in a triangle type shape and were moving at a steady pace, No noise and below cloud level - I first thought of Chinese lanterns but then realised that the breeze was completely in the wrong direction.” (PE-5C). Possible Christmas Day Chinese Lanterns. (uk-ufo).

77/09/126. 25 December 2009 - 21:30 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - 7 round, orange glowing lights in the sky were observed by lone male witness. Witness stated: “I saw two, round orange glowing lights that traversed the sky in a south to north direction at the same height and kept the exact same distance between them with no height deviation. Travelling at a steady pace, they went out of visual range. A couple of minutes later a formation of 4 of the exact same type lights followed in the exact same direction, height, speed and heading in a straight line one behind the other, with the exact same distance between them. These four lights then began to change formation very smoothly with exact precision into a perfect diamond shape, with equal spacing between the four, and then also carried along the same track until out of sight. If this was not enough, to my amazement a final light followed, on the exact same trajectory, height and speed as the others. This final light however, seemed to be a little larger and the glowing orange aura around it larger than the previous six lights. My wife and both my children also witnessed this phenomena. I am also ex-military and have worked at and around airports for many years, and can categorically say that these lights were not aircraft.” (PE-5C). Possible Christmas Day Chinese Lanterns. (uk-ufo).

77/09/127. 31 December 2009 - 22:00 - Warwick, Warwickshire, UK - Two orange lights in the sky was observed by lone, male witness. Witness stated: “I was on a night out with friends drinking in Warwick. A friend and I had gone outside the front of the pub where I was for a cigarette when I spotted an orange light travelling from behind St Mary's church towards us, over head then over the pub. There were fireworks going off at the time but in a completely different location and as usual they were being shot up into the air and after burning would slowly fall. This orange light was in no way a firework, neither was it Chinese Lantern. I estimated it was about 20ft in diameter, travelling at a height of around 800ft and at a controlled, consistent speed of approximately 150mph. This suggested it had a purpose or was being controlled. A Chinese Lantern would never be travelling at that speed and at such a consistent rate and in a perfectly straight line unless it was being carried by winds travelling at that speed. Even then it wouldn't be moving in a straight line but would appear to be blowing around in the wind. It wasn't windy at all on New Year's Eve. I saw another one of these strange lights acting in exactly the same manner, this second one came from the same area (from behind the church) but travelled in a slightly different direction.” (PE-5C). Possible explanation: New Year’s Eve Sky lanterns. (uk-ufo).

51/09/128. 31 December 2009 - 23:10 - Mountsorrol, Leicestershire, UK - A bright orange fireball was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “It was bright orange, only been less than 3,000ft in the sky and appeared like a fireball, it stayed very still for 7 minutes before moving away very fast.” (PE-5C). Possible explanation: New Year’s Eve Sky lantern. (uk-ufo).

- 2010 -

51/10/01. 1 January 2010 - 00:00 - Leicester Forest East, Leicestershire, UK - 30 orange aerial objects were observed. Witness (A) stated: “My granddaughter and myself were looking out of the window when we saw orange objects going across the sky. These objects appeared to be like balls of fire and came from the direction of Leicester and carried on their way in the direction of Hinckley. I should think there must have been at least thirty of them and they were using quite a wide expanse of sky. There didn’t seem to be any particular pattern to their movements except that they came from the direction of Leicester and went towards Hinckley. The last three only used any pattern and that was a two together and one at the back. My granddaughter is ten years old and is quite sensible and interested in anything to do with UFOs. There was another funny thing my mobile phone seemed to have gone weird as it said their was no network and I couldn’t contact anyone. After the last ones went by my phone worked again. I live at Leicester Forest East on the main A47. I have never seen anything like it before but have always had an interest in UFO sightings.” (PE-5C). Possible Explanation: Sky lanterns - Released from several parties as part of the new year celebrations. (ufoinfo).

Possible Explanation: Sky lanterns -Released from several parties as part of the new year celebrations. (lufoin).

51/10/03. 1 January 2010 - 00:02 - 01:00 - Burbage, Leicestershire, UK. Several bright orange aerial lights were observed. - Witness stated: We went into our garden to try and film the bright orange UFOs that were flying over our village. We watched 26 fly over during a one hour period. They were all identical orange craft, and all going in the same direction, intelligent flight in formation. It looked like an invasion from a sci-fi movie. Clear sky, very bright Moon, only 4 stars out that I could see. No cloud, you could see for miles. We watched them for over a hour.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/10/06. 1 January 2010 - 00:05 - Hugglescote, Leicestershire, UK - Several orange lights in the sky were observed .Witness stated: I noticed the first orange light travelling from NNE to SSW. I initially thought that it was some sort of aircraft, but could not explain the speed and the fact that it was gaining altitude rapidly but there was no engine sound. I then noticed another one moving in the same direction. A third one originated from the same direction, but followed a slightly different trajectory, taking it over my house. It was large, fast and again silent. It appeared to be at a lower altitude than the previous two, and my best guess would be 3 to 4,000 feet. A further three orange lights appeared over the next four minutes and went in different directions. Two of these seemed to disappear. It was a relatively clear night, very few clouds, and the two that disappeared did not go into clouds. They were just, suddenly, no longer visible. The direction from which they originated was, from my house, towards East Midlands airport.” (PE-5C). (Mullard). (uk-ufo).

51/10/07. 1 January 2010 - 00:10 - Elizabeth Road, Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - Witness stated: I thought they were helicopters but they werent and I stood watching them for about 5 minutes. It was very odd and I even questioned my own sanity as they floated across the sky.(PE-5C). (Taylor). (lufoin).

77/10/08. 1 January 2010 - 00:10 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - Orange balls of light were observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I must just say that I and my wife have seen the same objects before. It was on New years Eve/New Years day and there were 4 of them again. I went upstairs to watch the fireworks going off over Nuneaton at 10:00 past Midnight and noticed one orange ball of light. It came closer to my house and then I noticed another one a bit further away. I called my wife and she went to look out the back of the house and she said there was one there too. We saw another one so we could see four all at once, we watched them for about 30 minutes. The one closest to my house was moving slowly across Nuneaton Common.” (PE-5C). (lufoin).

51/10/09. 1 January 2010 - 02:15 - Claybrooke Magna, Leicestershire, UK - A bright orange light in the sky was observed. 77/10/09 (b). 2 January 2010 - 19:30 - Coventry, UK - Two very bright orange lights in the sky were observed by a male witness. Witness stated: “Tonight I was just driving home when I saw two very bright orange lights in the sky, they were more like balls of orange light, almost like balls of fire and had no other lights flashing on them like planes would, and were much larger and made no sound what so ever. and they must have been travelling at some speed because within 10 to 15 seconds they had gone from one side of the sky to the other.” PE-5C). Witness stated: “I was driving home down the hill in Salisbury drive at Chapel End when I looked up over the field which is called Nuneaton Common, it is situated between the rear of Lincoln Avenue and Skey Drive. There were four glowing orange objects moving in a straight line, equally spaced apart and travelling at the same speed across the field towards the housing estate on Skey Drive. As I arrived at home and got out of the car, the formation had changed and they were moving towards each other. I ran into home and grabbed my binoculars to get a closer look at them and went upstairs to look out of the front of the house and they had gone, all I could see was one orange light which was really high up and that slowly disappeared.” (PE-5C). My bedroom faces north and the objects seem to come from the Bulkington area flying across Bedworth to the west. As I was looking out of the window a second one appeared flying at the same speed and height as the first and another came into view again same height and speed. But spaced evenly apart. They were moving very fast. I went out side to get a better view but could only see one, it was glowing orange and the edges looked very fuzzy and then suddenly the light went out and I could see a dark sphere shaped object .and then it disappeared in to the distance. All this happened about 10:15pm. The thing about all this that there was silence and could not hear any engine sound. I would have thought being so low and fast that if they were planes there would have been some sound from the engines. My partner witnessed all this too and she has never seen any thing like this.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

It was a bright sunny day and initially I thought it was a plane reflecting the sun. But the fact it didn't move and I've never seen an orange reflection on a plane before kind of rules that out.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

We then noticed another coming from lots of directions all travelling very fast. One travelled past a plane within seconds and was ten times large in size than the plane in the sky. We watched for over 15 minutes. My partner even went over the field next to our house to watch them. I have never seen anything like this before to fast for a plane to large for a shooting star and too bright for a balloon or lantern.” (PE-5C). (ufoinfo).

Witness stated: “I went for a walk, with no torch, on our land which has extremely low levels of light pollution. Saw a shooting star and then later looked up to the eastern sky and saw a short cone of light about a mile up between 45 and 70 degrees elevation from the horizontal. I thought it was a helicopter with a spotlight or some such but there was absolutely no noise and it appeared too high for a helicopter. I turned away for a brief second and when I turned back I was startled to see an extremely bright, long, thick, rectangular beam of pure white light more than 10000 feet up (I.e. cloud height, and above the level at which planes lower their wheels on coming into land at Birmingham airport over us) – 200 or 300 yards long and up to 50 yards deep with streaks of pure white lightning coming off it and streaking parallel to it, not only in zigzags but in straight line bursts. It was very bright so I briefly turned away again. When I turned back the bright light had faded and there was a glowing pulse or throbbing echo of light like billowing sheets flowing across the sky where it had been. I saw no fuselage or structures but still cannot completely discount that it was military (though of what nature and design, goodness knows – it definitely wasn’t of “Stealth” antiquity). I don’t actually believe in alien flying saucers but I did see this! A month ago I saw a billowing throbbing light over our land, exactly the same as the end of this but in the western sky and lower.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

I observed what appeared to be a dome-shaped object which had perfectly square green and orange pulsating lights on its side and which appeared to have been hovering only 30 feet above a house on the other side of the road where I live in Knighton Fields. At first I thought it must be the police helicopter but there was silence when I opened my bedroom window. After several moments watching this strange object, it began to move very slowly towards the house and it was then that I alerted my friend in the back room to take a look out of the back window as it passed. We both observed the rear of the object as it moved north towards the city centre. My friend also saw the four large square-shaped lights attached to a very dark wedge-shaped object. I have spoken to neighbours and put appeals up in local shops but it seems that no-one else in the vicinity saw it, which is very odd as it was so low down and noticeable. I have absolutely no idea what it was. It was most certainly not the Police helicopter as I have ascertained that there were no police helicopters in the vicinity on that night. I am intrigued.” (Michaels). (UN-Med). *See Item 9; Press Report Log 2006-2012.

The back of each object had a square pulsating orange light (about 2 times a second). at about 20:30 hours, one single object moved north east and at 21:15 hours, two flew over heading north east side by side. These objects sounded like military jets - very loud and could still be heard about minutes after they passed out of sight. Pulsating light very odd, nothing like a jet reheat or anything else I have seen before despite being a pretty keen plane spotter.” (UN-Med). (uk-ufo).

I stood and watched for a minute as they seemed to be moving in a very random fashion... I called my husband who was downstairs at the time watching x factor to come and have a look. We both stood there in amazement as we watched a dozen or so more of these craft start appearing all across the sky. These objects were far away in the distance but we could clearly see that they had flashing lights in colours of red green blue and White. We watched these for about 40 minutes and they were nothing like we had ever seen... These things moved very fast and would disappear and re-appear in different parts of the sky in less than seconds. My husband is a sceptic, but he will even admit what we saw was no ordinary aircraft.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

Witness stated: “While walking the dog, I looked up to my right , which would be east to n east. Clear starry sky, could see a couple of passenger aircraft in the night sky, easily identifiable by their flashing lights and flight patterns. My attention was drawn to what I thought must have been Mars as it looked like a star but was red, but on further inspection, it occurred to me that mars only flashes what appears red/orange. I stood for a couple of minutes, to see if this red star was moving. It had remained stationary for the 4 or 5 minutes that I had observed it, I'm glad I didn't take my eye of it and made sure my position remained the same. Suddenly this red shape started to move and in fact started to blink what appeared to be at least 1 other colour, of which I would say was green, it was hard to tell because this thing appeared to be either a star or a planet, which gives you an idea of it's apparent distance. It started to circle slowly upwards until it appeared to come back to it's original position only higher , it then moved around in spiralling motion climbing all the time. I managed to keep in view long enough to see it travel away to my left moving north-east. What I found unusual was that it flashed while it was moving but became a solid red light when it appeared to hang stationary, which it did at least twice. After watching it for about ten minutes it got to far for me to see it.” (PE-1D). (uk-ufo).

Clear sky plenty of stars still visible even though the sky was just starting to go from dark to slightly lighter hue. Looked up to see what I can only describe as an object of the appearance of a very bright star, only 3 times the size . As it approached from a westerly direction heading due east, at I would guess at least 5,000 feet, it was difficult to calculate its size because of not having anything to compare it to. It maintained a steady speed... that of a passenger jet at least. it came directly over head and passed over me, and continued on its steady course. I watched it all the way, there was no flashing lights of any sort...it simply looked like a brilliant white star, but much bigger. No noise of any sort, and believe me, at that time in the morning even if it was higher than I thought, I would still be able to hear it if it was an aircraft of our making. At one point when it was over head, it actually looked like a star as in five pointed, like the star of Texas... but it was hard to tell because of it's brightness.” (IN-NL ). Possible ISS. (uk-ufo).

51/11/22. 11 April 2011 - 21:20 - Wigston, Leicestershire, UK - A very bright orange light in the sky was observed. Witness stated: “Looking out of upper window , I observed a very bright orange light that looked like a large street lamp - this headed towards my house in a direct line and got bigger. Could see pulsating lights in a clear cube within the orange glow. I tried to get a picture of it with my mobile phone, but literally only have a small orange blob in the night sky on the picture. This orange light then stopped and changed course heading over at a constant speed towards the countryside. Definitely NOT a Chinese lantern.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

77/11/23. 12 April 2011 - 04:23 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - a moving aerial object, roughly 4 times the size of a star was observed crossing the sky. (IN-NL ). (uk-ufo).

51/11/24. 30 April 2011 - 22:09 - Leicester, UK - An orange/red light in the sky was observed. Witness stated: “I saw a bright orange/red light diameter of the end of a biro, moving from NE to SW visible for about 20 seconds, straight path, no sound, followed about 3 minutes later by an identical one with the same trajectory and speed.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/11/25. 6 May 2011 - 23:40 - Leicester, UK - Bright /orange red light moving steadily in one straight direction. No sound - vanished after about 10 seconds - re-appeared in the place it had started and continued for about 10 seconds. In the opposite direction the same thing was happening. (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/11/26. 24 May 2011 - 23:12 - Whitwick, Leicestershire, UK - A large white orb was observed in the sky by lone female witness. Witness stated: “I was looking up at the sky and suddenly noticed a big white orb high in the sky, it moved quickly across the sky but not very far then it shrunk and vanished, 10 minutes later there was another one just smaller, it moved exactly the same as the one before and appeared and vanished in the same place as the one before.” (PE-4A). (Sibson). (uk-ufo).

51/11/27. 25 May 2011 - 23-25 - Whitwick, Leicestershire, UK - A large white orb in the sky was observed. (PE-4A). (uk-ufo).

77/11/28. 30 May 2011 - 00:15 - Coventry, UK - Several beams under the clouds were observed - 2 orange globes were also seen moving slowly above road. (PE-8H/5C). (uk-ufo).

51/11/29. 2 June 2011 - 22:30 - Leicester, UK - A bright red object moving slowly across the sky was observed by lone male witness - no sound. (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/11/30. 26 June 2011 - 03:30 - A6 between Loughborough and Leicester, UK - A large cluster of fireballs were observed in the sky. Witness stated: “Whilst driving, I spotted a large cluster of what appeared to be fireballs travelling towards the horizon at a speed I'd never witnessed before. I first mistook it for an aeroplane on a collision course but quickly realised there is no way a plane would be plummeting at that speed. Another giveaway sign was how they appeared to cut through the few clouds floating quite high up.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/11/31. 28 - 29 - 30 June 2011 - 01:50 - 3:15 - Countesthorpe, Leicestershire, UK - A bright stationary light in the sky was observed on consecutive mornings - A white aerial light was sighted, but with appearance and behaviour that most likely would have a conventional explanation. Witness stated: I saw a larger than bright white star, thought it was a star at 1st but then moved up and down then left and right.” (PE- 3A). (uk-ufo).

77/11/32. 4 July 2011 - 20:00 - Hunningham, Warwickshire, UK - A pilot, whilst flying at 2,800 feet above Hunningham, observed a metallic - looking globular object in the sky. Witness stated: “I was flying at an altitude of 2800ft and I saw a small streak of light. I turned to observe it and it disappeared. A metallic ball appeared to the north (my right) and as quick as I looked at it, it disappeared and reappeared to my front, this continued with it disappearing and reappearing several times, it descended and did not see it again. Visibility was hazy so the object must have been close and small.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/11/33. 8 July 2011 - 22:00 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A round black aerial object was observed crossing the sky and slowly descending. (PE-5C).Possible extinguished Chinese Lantern. (lufoin).

51/11/34. 10 July 2011 - 18:25 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A white aerial object was observed by three witnesses-Appeared to change shape from triangular to disc - retraced flight path - descended into trees before rising again - moved off in a straight line - disappeared. (PE-1A). (lufoin).

77/11/35. 12 July 2011 - 02:25 - Flecknoe, Rugby, Warwickshire, UK - A flash of light was observed by lone female witness. Witness stated: “We are in open countryside, 8 miles south of Rugby. I frequently walk in the dark at night up and down our 250 yard drive looking at the sky. On this occasion I saw a UFO in the east, about half a mile away. I suppose dropping from elevation 75 degrees to 50 degrees from the horizontal. It was like a meteorite but it was bigger and very bright and it had a body which was quite fat and pronounced in shape. There was a flash of light on the cloud base which caught my eye. I turned and saw it descend from the clouds and vanish. No sound whatsoever. It was shaped with a first part made out of extremely bright white light but forming the shape of a sphere with domes fore and aft which were fluted onto the sphere, about the size of a house, arm’s length size middle finger nail. There was a beam of very bright white light streaming from the back of the object which actually stayed visible for the 2 seconds, unlike a meteorite. The body was larger than the white beam. The descent from south to north was at least 18 inches at arms outstretched. After the whole thing disappeared there was no sound or evidence of a meteor hitting the ground as would be expected of an object this size if it was a meteor. There would have been extensive damage on the ground. I experienced slight time and thought distortion.” (PE-7B). (uk-ufo).

77/11/36. 12 July 2011 - 02:30 - Priors Marston, Warwickshire, UK - A bright green aerial object was observed. Witness stated: “A very bright green light, much larger than a planet, moved swiftly across the sky -about mid height- from west to east, it faded out as it reached due east. no tail to it.” (PE-7B). (uk-ufo).

51/11/37. 25 July 2011 - 01:30 - Newton Harcourt, Leicestershire, UK - 3 satellite-like aerial objects were observed by 2 witnesses. Witness (A) stated: “Whilst sky watching on Monday night, with no cloud or light pollution it was a perfect night with the Milky Way out in all it's splendour, we saw what appeared to be three satellites all in very close proximity to each other and travelling in slightly different directions, at one point they made a triangle, and then it looked like one passed above the one below, we actually thought they were going to collide, and they didn't fade out like normal satellites do.” (Evaluation Code PE-4A (b). (uk-ufo).

51/11/38. 26 July 2011 - 22:00 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A bright light, like a reflection, was observed in the dusk skies for approximately 10 seconds. (PE-1B). (lufoin).

77/11/39. 31 July 2011 - 21:50 - Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire, UK - A small black object with an orange light was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “At approximately 9:50pm on the evening of 31st of July 2011 I was sat in my bedroom with my wife watching television. On the horizon I saw a small but bright orange light moving towards our apartment block quite quickly. I often see planes approach from the same direction (South) - but this was different. The light from the object was orange, it appeared and subsequently approached far quicker than any aircraft ever has done in the past, planes usually have a white light with smaller flashing lights, we can often see/make out the shape of the planes passing overhead and we can hear the planes as they fly over. None of this was the case tonight I could see nothing but the small bright orange light (with no accompanying flashing lights) and it was completely silent as it passed over head. I even waited to hear if the sound was travelling behind in a similar fashion to the sound from aircraft but I still heard no sound. I then quickly went to my living room window to see if I could see it travelling away from us. I clearly saw a small black object (without a bright light this time) quickly travelling away from me. It then travelled out of sight behind a nearby tree line.” (PE-5C). (Possible Chinese Lantern observation). (uk-ufo).

77/11/40. 3 August 2011 - Bedworth, Warwickshire, UK - Green and red lights were observed in the sky. Witness stated: “At about 11:30pm I was leaving work and noticed a few planes in the sky, clear as the weather had been nice all day and clouds had been kept at bay. One particular 'plane' seemed to catch my eye as its speed seemed to be much greater than the others I could see. I kept eye for 2-3 minutes and noticed that all the other planes were flashing red and white lights whereas this one i was looking at had continuous green and red coming from it - all of a sudden, its path seemed to waiver and its direction of flight change dramatically. I have no idea what this flying object was, but I don’t think it was a plane at all. I ended up losing sight of it within an instant, therefore couldn't investigate further.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/11/41. 7 August 2011 - 04:21 - East Goscote, Leicestershire, UK - A bright white light was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “ I looked up at the sky and Noticed the Northern Star there as usual, but slightly to the left of it i noticed another bright light, but this white light was moving slowly to the west, it was so strange, even more so when my dog stood up on it's hind legs howling at the object, which made me feel very uneasy as my dog is never like this, we have a lot of air traffic from east Midlands airport, and he's fine with this.” (PE-3A). (uk-ufo).

51/11/42. 7 August 2011 - 22:00 - Market Harborough, Leicestershire, UK - An amber-coloured aerial light was observed by lone male witness. Witness stated: “I was standing in my back garden and looked up and noticed an amber coloured light travelling roughly West to East. It seemed very high and fast moving, but way too fast for a satellite. The light was constant, not flashing, and it was silent. Within the same minute I then saw a very similar light travelling at same kind of speed roughly East to West and it disappeared into the Earth's shadow as you'd expect with an orbiting satellite, but again, it seemed very fast for a satellite. I felt 'spooked' and went inside, Another look a few minutes later from my kitchen window and I saw a bright starry flash in the sky, behind the tall tree in my garden which obscured the view, so it wasn't clear what this was. All this occurring in such a short space of time seemed odd.” (PE-5C/4B). (uk-ufo).

77/11/43. 22 August 2011 - 16:47 - Whitestone, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - A star-like object was observed in the sky, followed by a streak of light which left a contrail. (PE-1B). (uk-ufo).

77/11/44. 23 August 2011 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - Witness stated: “I was sitting in my garden as usual, it was around 10:00pm Tuesday August 23rd 2011, I always watch the skies and take photographs of cloud formations. I saw a white light about 20-30 feet above a neighbours house. I first thought it was a plane, but it was silent and moving slowly towards my garden. I picked up my camera (NOKIA P100) and tried to take photos and video, but the camera isn't brilliant at night. I managed to take a few photos and a short, poor quality video.” (IN-NL). (Mufon).

77/11/45. 2 September 2011 - 00:30 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - An unusual object in the sky was observed by two male witnesses. Witness (A) stated: “I was watching television with my brother, when out of the corner of his eye he noticed something and said what’s that? I looked round and could see what I thought was a spotlight, it kept disappearing behind some trees along the railway track behind our house where I got occasional glimpses. eventually it entered a clearing, just above a metal girder which ran vertical to the track and to the right side of our garden fence, it hovered their for a good 5 minutes. I would describe it as a very bright light, about the size of a star in the sky from where I was - it pulsated orange light on the side which were barely visible but I could see them blinking. before it started to dim and disappeared from view. their was no sound but that of a plane that had flew past during the event. had it been a helicopter, I’m sure a propeller noise would of been discernable, we have them fly past all the time and you can hear them from some distance, this ‘object’ made no such noise and its flight path was too erratic to be that of a plane. my brother can testify to the whole event as he was with me throughout.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/11/46. 24 September 2011 - 22:20 - Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, UK - A bright ball of fire was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “My dad came back from the petrol station when he came in the house and told me to go out the back and I saw what looked like a bright ball of fire moving slow at first the shot off over towards the north east area I have no idea what it was.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/11/63. 1 October 2011 -19:00 - Stoney Stanton, Leicestershire, UK - A large saucer - shaped object with lights on either side and a flashing one on top, was reported moving slowly across the sky. (PE-5E). (Paranormal Database).

51/11/47. 1 October 2011 - 20:00 - Desford, Leicestershire, UK - A strange sausage - shaped blue glowing light that was observed in the sky moving around erratically - shot up into the sky several times and then light disappeared. Witness stated: “I noticed a sausage shaped dark object - later on around 12.30 I went to pick up my son from work with my daughter and we saw the blue light again but this time it glowed red and then blue again.” (PE-5E). (uk-ufo).

51/11/48. 1 October 2011 - 22:30 - Loughborough, Leicestershire, UK - 3 red lights forming a triangle were observed in the sky. Witness stated: “I saw 3 red lights in a triangle, moving fast, not high, about helicopter flying height, travelling north, distortion of dark area around the triangular shape created by the lights. At one point one light seemed to move, stretching the triangular shape and then it moved straight back to reform the even triangle shape. Visible for about 7 seconds. At one point at first sight, it seemed like it was flapping but when I looked carefully that didn’t seem to be the case. It made no noise whatsoever and made no turns at all.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/11/49.10 October 2011 - 01:30 - Rutland Water, Leicestershire, UK - A white light in the sky was observed. Witness stated: “Laying in bed, trying to get to sleep when I heard a chugging noise. I looked out and saw a white light as it came across the water from the North. As it came closer to my house, it must have rotated as the light changed to green. It then stopped and did 3 circular movements, as if circling something then came within 200 metres of my house and the light had changed to red. It then slowed and then set off towards the town of Stamford. The noise the craft made changed all the time, from a chugging to a whirring and at one point, both. The sound returned 20 minutes later but couldn't spot it anywhere in the air.” (PE-5E). (uk-ufo).

51/11/50. 14 October 2011 - 16:20 - Market Harborough, Leicestershire, UK - 2 silver, long objects were observed in the sky by lone, male witness. Witness stated: “I was in the car just about to visit a family friend when I noticed two, silver, long objects with bulbous ends flying silently in formation. One was slightly higher and in front of the other. They were flying at about the speed of a modern jet.” (PE-1B). (uk-ufo).

77/11/51. 15 October 2011 - 22:00 - Coventry, UK - 3 sets of lights in the sky were observed. Witness (A) stated: “I saw 3 sets of lights appear over the houses. I thought they were planes but they were in triangle formation. They looked really far away but very bright. Ross answered the door and then he dashed to get his phone. By the time he came back another 2 appeared making 5 altogether. They then hovered and shot of in different directions.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/11/52. 19 October 2011 - 21:55 - Burbage, Leicestershire, UK - A silent, very bright slow-moving yellow/white light at low level was observed in the sky by lone male witness - duration 10 minutes. Witness stated: “I had just got out of my car when I noticed a very bright white/yellow light just above the rooftops on the opposite side of the road. It was close to the planet Jupiter at that time but a distance below it and about twice as bright. I could not here any sound as the light just very slowly moved along. I thought I could make out a white flashing strobe light, but this wasn't obvious or continuous. It was heading west and I watched it for around 10 minutes in total. It didn't look like a Chinese lantern, it looked more like a large aircraft light. I am sceptical of lights in the sky reports being anything other than natural objects viewed badly, but this one has got me puzzled.” (IN-NL). (Lord). (uk-ufo).

51/11/53. 22 October 2011 - 01:45 - Loughborough, Leicestershire, UK - A bright flashing light was observed to come through bedroom curtains. Witness (A) stated: “My partner and I were in bed. My partner turned the bedside lamp off and around 5 minutes later we saw a bright flashing light coming through the curtain. I thought that a police car had pulled up outside so got up to see what was going on. As I opened the curtain the light vanished, I looked up and down the street and there was nothing there. Our street is about a mile long, there was nothing there at all. The lights were as if something was spinning. hovering right outside the window. I am a rational person and spent over 5 years in army aviation, I can’t explain it.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo). *(Compare LUFOIN Case Ref: 51/71/35 From Same Date, 1971, and Case Ref:51/78/56 from May 1978).

77/11/54. 18 November 2011 - 18:45 - Tredington, South Warwickshire, UK - A triangular - shaped object was observed in the sky. Witness stated: “Whilst driving home with my son through the village of Tredington, we were over flown by a triangular object. This was in the shape of an equilateral triangle. The size I would estimate as equal to a small executive jet such as an Embraer. We regularly get over flown by RAF Hercules aircraft, but not only was this at rooftop level but completely silent. The object had lights in all corners & most unlike any conventional aircraft or other known vehicle. I would describe the altitude as extremely low & well below that flown by normal aircraft.” (IN-Med). (uk-ufo).

51/11/55. 25 November 2011 - 20:00 - Oadby, Leicestershire, UK - A large, orange ball of fire was observed by lone, male witness. Witness stated: “I was putting the milk bottle out. Clear, cloudless night. Several aircraft in the air which is normal, as we are on flight paths to several airports including Stoughton Airport. One aircraft (?) flying over low (not airliner height), direct line north to south, noiseless but apparently completely on fire with a very large orange/yellow ball of fire at rear. Put me in mind of the French Concorde when it caught on fire. I'm familiar with planes in the air, particularly at night, but this one so fast, unusual, and very obviously going to crash. I Called my wife and told her to hurry or she'd miss it. By this time the shape was 1/8th the size of original, but it hadn't deviated and apparently didn't crash. It was definitely not a Chinese lantern. Couldn't judge height or speed but very, very fast indeed.” (PE-7B).(uk-ufo).

51/11/56. 27 November 2011 - 19:02 - Thurmaston, Leicestershire, UK - 2 red lights glowing in the sky, that seemed to be burning, were observed by lone, male witness. Witness stated: “From my home, I drove to a slip road, T junction. Looking around before moving off, I noticed with a trail, moving from right to left, west to east. I got out of my car to have a better look, then stood and watched it travel for almost a minute, looked to my right and saw a second identical light travelling in same direction. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. On a regular flight path where I live, I've seen many aircraft with their flashing white and red lights. these two lights are not from any aircraft I've seen before, and never seen lights at anytime travelling in this direction.” (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/11/57. 4 December 2011 - 19:15 - Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, UK - An orange light in the sky was observed by female witness. Witness stated: “Not an orange Chinese lantern, but it was orange. It moved very perfectly for 1 min then stopped and then went backwards and it went smaller“. (PE-5C). (uk-ufo).

51/11/58. 18 December 2011 - 16:30 - Burbage, Leicestershire, UK - A very bright stationary light was observed in the sky. (DE-3A). (lufoin).

51/11/59. 18 December 2011 - 17:05 - Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK - A very bright stationary light in the sky. (DE-3A). (Platton). (lufoin).

Planet Venus...(IFO:3A).

77/11/60. 21 December 2011 - 01:30 - Hatton, Warwickshire, UK - A bright red light in the sky was observed. Witness stated: “I went outside to smoke a cigarette and looked around the sky, then noticed a bright red light in the sky and assumed it was a helicopter as it was stationary, as I looked closer I could see lights moving around it's surface. I admit I became a bit scared as I felt like it was watching me, as I thought this it seemed to move higher and farther away. I then thought maybe it was someone playing with a laser pointer as I wanted a reasonable explanation. Finally I walked away and back inside the house as I felt quite fearful and wanted to deny what I had seen.” (IN-NL). (uk-ufo).

51/11/61. 24 December 2011 - 23:30 - Leicester, UK - An orange light in the sky was observed. (PE-5C). (Kendrick). (lufoin).

51/11/62. 24 December 2011 - 23:45 - Blaby/Glen Parva, Leicestershire, UK - A large orange slightly oval ball of light was observed in the sky by lone male witness. Witness stated: “I saw a large, orange ball of light moving from the Blaby/Glen Parva area towards the city centre around 11.45 on Christmas Eve night. This was not a plane, not a helicopter or one of those Chinese lanterns. From my bedroom window it was stationary for about 5 seconds, then moved off at a steady fast speed without any noise at all.” (PE-5C). (Smith). (lufoin).
