THE CASE OF THE FLYING CUSHION

August 28th., 1996. 11:13 Hours. Station Road, Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK. Geo. B1.

A singularly interesting case occurred on the above date at Hinckley, i.e. the sighting of a silent, 3 feet square cushion - like flying object, travelling against the wind.

There was unfortunately only one known witness, 55 year-old Mr. Trevor Radford, a resident of Earl Shilton. His statement regarding his sighting is as follows:

Statement by Mr. Radford.

I was waiting for my Mother outside the dentist on Station Road, Hinckley, when I noticed what I thought was a large, dark sheet of paper, which was floating at the back of Station Road. As I watched, I saw it rock, and realised that it had depth. If asked to describe it in some way, the best description I can think of is like a chair cushion seat.

I was surprised that it did not go up or down or side to side, it kept to a straight line and constant speed over the station, and towards Burbage.

September 4th., 1996 - UFO sighted - Hinckley Times.

An Earl Shilton man has reported the sighting of an Unidentified Flying Object over Hinckley. Trevor Radford saw the object travelling parallel with Station Road, Hinckley, approximately 300 foot in the air. The sighting occurred last Wednesday as Mr. Radford was leaving the dentist. He said that the object maintained an exact height and trajectory as it headed towards Burbage, and that it rocked slightly as it progressed in a perfectly straight line. It was described as being of a square or oblong shape, with substantial depth to the body. Mr. Radford said: It definitely wasnt a bird, and it definitely wasnt a meteor. It moved in a straight line at between 10 to 15 miles per hour, and never varied in height, just oscillated slightly.” (51/96/10). (8).
