Thank you for your letter dated January 21 1981 on the subject of low flying helicopters and UFOs.

With regard to the sightings you mention:

1. 19:10 hours, Sunday 26 November 1980. Our survey helicopter was at Dollar Air Services Ltd., Baginton Airport, Coventry for maintenance.

I would think it unlikely that the sightings you mention could be attributed to helicopters since they generally need to operate in good visibility during daylight hours, with the sightings involved occurring just after sunset or during the hours of darkness..

I suggest you contact Air Traffic Control sections at Birmingham and Coventry Airports if you wish to pursue this further.
